Got the 3rd part machined Saturday. Last night I surfaced all the top surfaces of the very top flange. Might have them setup for machining tonight.
Cruising right along so far! Today I am ordering the thin wall tube material so that when it gets here in a couple days my welder can weld together all the mid sections. |
Running the tank flanges right now!!!
While waiting inbetween machine programs I setup a Facebook page! Be sure and like us! Facebook.com/cjmotorsportsinc -ive been posting some pics of the RPP parts. |
man that's some fast progress, thoughts on ETA? got a big mod coming in soon!
|
I am actually really hoping to perhaps get these to the anodizer in about 2 weeks! It has been helping them along to run them through the middle of the night since I can get more time in the CNC that way. But its killing me and my ability to provide exceptional customer service!
|
man I better hurry up and get my money ready then!
|
damn gotta sell more used parts LMAO
|
Tonight I started running the most complex part to machine. Tonight I will get the 2 of the 4 programs on this part complete. The next evening I run the machine will do the 2 finishing programs on it. Then all the significant machining is done. What will be left is level sensor mounts and fuel pump install clamps and a little welding. Pics on the Facebook!
I told ya guys that it would be a slow start but that when it's getting worked on, I hustle! I gotta get this done... I got 100 other products to be working on to release for you guys. |
Sweet! Keep up the good work!
|
Damn tease us with other products please lol
|
What are your thoughts on this Charles? Any idea on how it compares to your RRP? Post 50.

Thoughts beyond that? I'm not here to teach them anything so I will not highlight the design's inherent flaws.. But to put it simply, that is an extremely elementary layout. It's 2 pumps in a box. Nothing to see here. We already built a twin fuel pump hanger for the 370z. It's in stock and ready to go, and is more functional than that concept they have. It's a proven design with over 100 units sold between the 350 and 370 (same design). So to answer your your question... How it compares to ours? It can't... it doesn't hold a candle to our RRP. They are 10 years behind me on fuel system engineering. |
Amen!
Don't think I was doubting you or your product btw. Just wondering what you thought about it. |
No problem I'm glad you posted it, I got a kick out of reading that.
Without getting into the several problems with that design that will cause severe functionality limitations that they will hopefully address before production... I'd like to point out one elephant in the room with it. While they address it as "very affordable".. Let's take note that it clearly requires an external fuel filter and pressure regulator and return fuel system conversion. So while their pump there may end up costing less by itself... You are looking at a lot more expense by the time it's in the car. Our road race pump is much more adaptable. Capable of working with factory returnless systems or completely wild fuel systems, from stock HP to over 1000 on gasoline or E85. Most of the road racing guys have no need for all that hoopla... Our base RRP kit is PnP inside the gas tank. With customer reports coming in that our RRP is performing down to a completely empty tank... There's simply no room for anyone to do better! |
The fuel god hath spoken!!!
So damn tempted to get in on this, bank account is screaming mercy tho. If only California didn't freeze my overtime this month...would be worth every dime too. |
This batch is still coming along well. All the real significant machining is done. Our fabricator is welding up the tall canister sections over the next several days. Tonight we have to machine more of the level sensor mounts for him... we had like 9 left over from last time.
After that... its a CNC batch of our fuel pump install kits (the billet clamp from our FPI kit is included in the road race pump kit and I dont have enough left in stock right now to complete this RRP batch). Then, lastly, some lathe work to finish off the larger diameter lower canister section... then off for anodizing. |
working fast and updates constantly, can't ask for a better vendor!!
|
The level sensors mounts were finished the other day.
Material is on order for the billet fuel pump install clamps. I overlooked that material on the initial order. We will probably have that come in Wednesday or Thursday and then get them done immediately. So my goal is to get to lower canister section lathed and cnc'd by the time that material arrives. I believe that it's quite possible we may done with production next Saturday. That is when the parts go out for surface prep and finishing... Which usually takes 7-10 days to get back. |
damn speed!!
|
We did not finish this Saturday... The lower can sections are halfway done. We ran into a problem. However... Hoping to get them finished tomorrow. Then we can still get the pump clamps finished this week and start getting everything ready for anodizing.

Is Round Two still open for buyers?
|
Technically it is closed. But I can go through it all and see if there is room for one more of them to be sold.
I'm beginning to wish that we had just made like 40 this time. I have a feeling that I won't be able to go an entire year before the next batch again. Might have to do them again come summer. |
I think so too. When this batch gets installed, and on the track. The reviews coming back from that. You're going to be doing another batch. LOL
|
Plus remember a few Midwest and east coast people track time is almost over!! After winter more orders!!!

You guys should just all come to CA for Xmas/new years and go to AAA/Big Willow/Button Willow with martin and I :icon17: It's kinda dickish to say, but this is the best time of year out here, low humidity, 70-80 degrees, and track gets perfect temp right around noon-1. Gotta watch that "cold" first session though when it is still like 55-60 degrees out-tires are slippery :roflpuke2:
|
The very last part is setup in the CNC right now. Since this part is used for other product as well, we are making a very large batch of them. They will be done Monday or Tuesday. So at some point next week, the RRPs will be with the anodizer. Once they come back from there... That's it.
|
Nice... Now I need to start gathering the funds to get this home. Wife told me this is my Christmas gift, seems like most of my gifts recently have been paid for out of my pocket lol.

Last part is almost done. One more procedure to run on it, than all the machining is over with! Probably tomorrow.
|
AND they are done. This stuff will get out for anodizing for the end of the week and most likely be gone all of next week. When it gets back, they are ready to start shipping. I will post a pic or two of the lot up on the facebook before the end of the week.
