You can thank me later when you don't b/tch at me all day at our next track event that you keep getting fuel starvation and can't use the FI TT kit to its full potential ;)

Hey please keep us updated on this. As far as I know you would be the first boosted Z to use this on the track. Are you just planning on running it the way it comes or changing out the pump?

This thing has been amazing, my 4th track day with it. Got my fuel tank to go from 5 dots to 2 in a long right hand turn. I am not worried at all about fuel starve on or off the track any more. It did give me a little of a scare a few days ago when I heard a whine come from the fuel tank area but it was gone the next day and has not come back.

AnthonyD1978 04-24-2015 02:51 PM

Other than the install itself (difficulty wise) I haven't heard of anyone having issues with it after the install. True?

There's 44 pages of posts just on this thread...haven't read a single fail/bad review

Hey punk I put a deposit down on preproduction about a year ago then sort of fell off on my mods. Any chance I can put that toward this run?

Oh for sure.

We can put you on the list but we have to see how many finished pieces we end up with now. There are 12 in production, 1 is going to get modified for a sponsored 350z race car. If no parts get screwed up, there should still be 1 available.

Great! Let me know.

I've fuel starved at about half tank at least a dozen times now (turn 3 High Plains raceway lol)

Topping off is getting old!

JWillis72 05-04-2015 03:39 PM

Punk, I ran mine at Sebring this weekend and did 3 sessions with it on one tank of gas, and it never missed a beat. When I started the cool down lap I looked down at the gauges and it was flashing 20 miles until empty, and as you know on a boosted car thats saying you are out of gas. I limped it back and had to borrow a gallon of gas just to go to the gas station. The last time I was there I was getting fuel starvation before I got to 3/4 tank left, thanks again for creating this great product!

Excellent! I appreciate the feedback very much.

Hello from motorsports ranch in Texas. Quick thanks. Did you know GTRs suffer from fuel starvation? They are envious of my road race pump! Back to the One Lap now...

Just wanted to throw in an update. I know I have been silent but the parts are coming along!

Actually, we are getting pretty close now. There are 2 just components left to machine and then we can do the light fabrication and anodizing.

Attached is a photo of the new top hat... I made some cosmetic enhancements just for fun.

1cleanZ 05-07-2015 01:06 PM

^^Thanks for the update Charles!

ValidusVentus 05-08-2015 02:25 AM

I posted a month back that I definitely wanted one as soon as a new batch came out and also talked to you on the phone a few times just to make sure. I didn't make it in the list? Haven't been following this thread like I should have I'll admit so thats my fault. Any way I can get on there?

cossie1600 05-08-2015 04:26 AM

I believe Rusty might have put together some pics on how to install it? Do you mind sharing it again? I bought the last one from the last batch, it is still sitting in the box! I need to get my act together and install it.

Better? :D

When this batch is finished, perhaps I should start a new/fresh thread and try and compile the most useful data into one. Then again, I am a quite the "thread dreamer" and fantasize about creating or finishing all types of dang threads LOL

I know I will be bookmarking all the required reading before attempting the install.

Some picks of why I like this thing so much. One dot of fuel, no problem (ran the tank almost empty to get a full one of 94 before the track day). At the track and at a 1/4 tank, no problem (conserving fuel at 8.4 mpg)

Count me in for this buy if it isn't over yet!! Sent you a PM Phunk.

phunk 05-20-2015 05:27 PM

I think we are maxed out at 12. Could possibly do another batch really soon if there is some more people

Crap, I missed this thread. How the heck did I do that.

mad_jelly 05-31-2015 08:45 AM

I am just learning of this product.

If it fits a 350z, I am def in. If anybody back out for whatever reason, i'll take it!

phunk 06-01-2015 12:59 AM

Unfortunately it will not fit a 350z, the older gas tanks are not deep enough.

mad_jelly 06-01-2015 07:36 AM

of course... the older guy with the older car gets no love. :(

AnthonyD1978 06-01-2015 02:19 PM

Phunk,

No rush from me, but is there any ETA?

Also are there any concerns about installing this and it effecting any tune I may have/get? Just curious if I should hold off on my tune until after I install the RRP.

Thanks.

Are you having fuel starve issues on the 350z? I raced a stock fuel system Spec Z in a 16 hour World Racing League endurance race over the weekend and took that 350z down to almost empty (5 miles left on the display) with no fuel starve. In contrast my PrePhunk 370z would starve at less than 10 laps from full.

What year is yours DR? I have several friends with 350's G35's at track that complain of fuel starve as well. But there's seems to be a lot tamer than ours and is not an issue until ~1/4 tank.

We are on the tail end of it now.. Tonight I am setting up the CNC to cut the inside profile on those thick looking tubes on the right (its an extrusion, we already turned down the outside of them, but I have to mill the inside shape).

After that, I just have to make more level sensor mounts because I only had 6.

We will probably start welding together the first 6 before the end of the week.

I dont want to say an ETA yet, but I think its safe to say these will all be out the door before the end of this month!

As for tuning, the RRP will generally not require any tune adjustment.

It wasn't my 350z, I was just a driver of it in the race. I think it was a 2005.

phunk 06-01-2015 03:07 PM

350z's are not nearly as starvation prone as the 370z. To be quite honest, I am not sure exactly why as they have a very similar fuel system. The 370z tank is just a few inches deeper. But I was also able to get my 350z to occasionally starve on on/off ramps with 1/4 tank.

No retune required.

Love it...actually have a road course event the 19th-21st, as well as 27th-28th, so I'm DAAAMN ready to put this thing to full use/trial!!!!!! :driving:

It only happened once and I was running w/ --- blinking at me at an autocross. Never on the circuit. Just looking for more safety bits and parts.

I still have to find a place to install the accusump.
