yea DA was 1050' ish , the low MPH i believe is due to me not taking the gears as far as I should and granny shifting due to the tire sway I was getting. The car felt as if it was floating on water or huvvering, very hard to explain but didnt feel good at all, and I was very conservative to be honest. I used OEM 300ZX wheels with M/T ET Street Slicks ( not the drag radials ) I did not do burnouts or go through the water, I just went around and did a rolling burnout or two. Def not a good time for these tires as far as 60 foot goes. I need to figure out how to disable ABS or get a line lock to do burnouts. 26x10.5 on 16 inch wheels... Its a super tall soft sidewall, not for the everyone with stock rubber up front. As soon as I sell my f.i. LTH group buy spot , I am going to order the street drag radial in the same size so I can feel safe and confident going down the strip. I plan to improve it soon, but i keep writing this. No more excuses but give me a month the time and mph will get a little better. It was only the 2nd time out, and first ever on slicks with no skinnies. So I am still getting used to the car and learning. Also this is on my Open Diff... Im sure the 60 has to improve a smidge once I get atleast a VLSD in there ( another reason I am gonna pass on LTH for now ) |

Just kidding. Pretty good for your first time out w/ slicks, 2nd time ever. Keep practicing...seems like you've got a handle on it. Hope the pumpkin doesnt blow lol. |

If axles or diff blows so be it... I pay for this car to have fun in it , so I'm not all that worried.
I am picking up a VLSD today, Im gonna have to have it installed in my pumpkin with new stub shafts.. If I blow that I can go back to open diff, lol. Axles would stink because they are not cheap but I dont think I was hooking nearly hard enough to break something.. Maybe if I heat them up the way I should and launch really hard after repeated use something would break but our near stock 370s should be okay. |

Had a good time Andrew. Nice job on the 13.5, that was my target going in. Auto FTW! Next time I should remove my radar detector...I figure that should shave a good .5 off my time ;) Also, I told Karen that she's fired from camera duties. |
Actually, your time is pretty damn good for your first time ever at the strip. You should be proud. That 60' sure sounds like a familiar time :)
You probably just need a little work on the shifting skillz. |

Even with the weather....I'm a bit surprised you didn't go a bit quicker at Cecil.....It'll come with more seat time though.

Zole was was your oil temp at ? And did you let the car cool down enough ? That helped my car out a ton!
And question for u ...Z Elim... did you do your 12.8 with the gears and still trapped 110 ? Im going back june 9th, hopefully with the drag radials instead of these et streets... I just have a hard time dropping 450 more on tires I will use once or twice this summer, loll.. my 12.9 @ 106.8 seems better to me now after I see most these other times.. |
Yes i trapped at 110.33 @ 12.8009 with the 4.08 gears.
Going to the track June 26 . Hopefully i will get it right this time with the drag radials. It hard to belive i went faster with the stock 19 inch tires! the last time out i ran a 13.099@110.02 with no traction at all.(2.121 60 ft time). |

Both 4r3s and I got the best time on our first runs. Maybe this had something to do with the oil temp, or maybe we just started over analyzing everything and the first was more instinctual. |
I can agree with the oil temps. My first passes on all 3 days were the fastist runs. Once the oil temp starts to rises the times go up 12.8, next pass 12.95, 3rd pass 13.09. After i let the car sit for 1.5 hours it ran a 12.98.
The first pass the oil was 80c . Once it got to 100 to 115 the car was very slow. It needs an oil cooler. If you run back to back runs the second pass will be a lot slower |
