Tires storage tips, also do you buy rims or rotate rims for different tires?

They also don't use 100 tread wear race tires

I too live in the NE.. I had my snow tires there for 7 years for my old maxima in a shed and take them out during winter. I do not think going to be any different from my z snow setup. I do deflate the tires before I put them there since temp raises and lowers psi. I guess depends on where the shed is I guess my shed has shade from trees.

What has tread wear rating got to do with it? Your stored tires will handle any temps you are likely to encounter in the contiguous US.

Pretty much all the R compound tires (<100 TW) have warnings to not store below freezing as the tires can actually crack.

And Tire Rack says to not let Extreme Summer tires (usually between 100 and 200 TW) get below 20 degrees.

But the OP is not claiming to have R-compound tires. You can call just about any tire a "race" tire. If the OP has R-compound, then, yes, cold storage can be a problem.

I think R compounds and extreme summer tires are most relevant to this track forum, no?

You, sir, are correct. My apologies for not paying more attention to the area this was posted in.

I ended up just putting a few cinder block on the basement floor, lay down a piece of wood and then stack the tires above it. I also have one of those tire rack sitting in my shed, but those would only be used for my Lexus snow tires and other old tires I will never use again. It would suck to lift 80lbs straight up to get them out of hte slot though
