Is that from Doran's shop? I take it you live in Lebanon, Ohio, I live right by there. |
I work for Doran racing

Pretty sure that's an exhaust hanger mount point...?

It very well could be I have not really looked under a street car and the only one that I have had single side exhaust on it
|
I have yet to take the stock bumper off and see if I can weld something onto the bumper like the way they did for the front. I just noticed that the Nismo oem bumper does not have a cap to pop off.
It will most likely involve me cutting a slit into the rear bumper like the Turnkey Nismo one. The only thing I still need to find out is if I can use the same exhaust hanger mount for the tow as our exhaust is routed differently. |

Looks like it!

yes, the JDM versions have the threaded impact bar to accommodate a rear tow hook! We dont get crap here!

on the non nismo Z there is a cap right above where the lower fog light is, that is the access to the rear tow hook but our cars don't have the threaded rear crash bar... you just need to weld and thread the crash bar...

Thanks Martin, I will use that location as a template. I'm in the middle of switching out the stock OEM bumper to the Nismo rear. It looks like JDM designed the Rear Nismo bumper to work with that rear tow hook.
I can machine a tapped block, I just gotta make sure I'm able to do a strong weld. |
I dont think they have it for the nismo bumper... I don't see a bumper cover on the nismo rear bumper....

it looks to me that the nismo RC, removes the tow hooks that are on both sides of the rear.... for transport strap down only...? I saw those back there but ended up using the rear wheels to strap it down.
