So question for those with experience running Hoosiers on 350's.
Right now I have 10 runs on my tires with the TX NT coming up at the end of the month. With a co-driver and practice/reruns I'm planning on racking up another 15 or so runs at the tour. My tires do not need to be flipped right now but I can't really tell if they'll last through the Tour without having issues. So for those with experience on 350's about how many runs could you get out of the fronts before hitting the cords?

You might want to post the question on my350z.com
I only co-drove a car on Hoosiers, and never ran my own on hoosiers. After the two days at Nats, they had already taken a beating and were needing to be flipped in my opinion. If you can get them flipped for cheap or free, then I'd say go ahead and do it now.

IIRC 35-36 front and 32-33 rear. Just make sure you aren't rolling over on the sides or you'll destroy the tires really quick.

Update from the Texas NT:
The course was ridiculously fast. I was at the top of second for the majority of the course. I finished the day ~1.5 seconds behind dan pedroza in his MSR and left alot of time out on course. So in all I'm pretty happy with my times considering the competition and stock shocks just need to really try and take advantage of my three runs.

Nice Trophy spot! Looks like you had a tough time on day 2 with no clean runs, but your raw time without the cone was 6/10 behind so nice job.
Had my first event on the Hoosiers yesterday, although it was cold and damp, temps in the 40/50s at best...but the car felt great in the slaloms and the sweepers so was real happy with the first real outing! Anxious for warmer temps so I can actually get some good grip out of the tires! |

Yea I feel like I drove 10x better on day 2 but my fastest run was still very sloppy. If I'd been completely on my game I feel I could have beat Pedroza but still I'm very happy with the results. If you can use your shocks to loosen up the back-end alittle bit the car should be very unstoppable.

I don't know Pedroza....but he placed 3rd in PAX.....so considering you weren't too far off on raw time, and the lack of development or shocks on the car....it looks good for the Z this season! .....and congrats on the contingency Hoosier!

Pedroza has placed 2nd in CS the past 2 years and if I hadn't coned the 2nd day I would have PAX'd 17th so I know I didn't drive terribly but there was alot of sloppiness going on. Here are my best runs from each day:

Damn those courses are awesome. Those are the type's I love and thrive on. I wish we could re-wind time and I'd co-drive with you at that event ahhhh! Pretty good driving man, glad you got second at least! Anyway, fun the limited amount of car I could see I think you need to work on your speed maintence in sweepers, granted I haven't driven the 370 yet, but the 350 will hang on like no other in sweepers, I just couldn't get it to dance in slaloms and tight transitions well. And you were late in some of the slaloms I saw, but over all pretty damn good man!

I agree, looks like there was lots of time out there in the sweepers....definitely better driving on day 2...much closer on the cones, as you appeared to be way off them on day 1. I was quite impressed this past sunday with the Z in the sweepers....and is where I picked up the time on each run. Get it hunkered down on the entry...get it turned in, and then I was on the gas for the entire sweeper. The Z just stuck and kept turning so no signs of push, just a little inside wheel spin, but nothing major and could easily be modulated with the gas peddle, but I was able to get on the power early on every sweeper and keep the line really nice, with a little sliding of the rear around the final cone of the sweeper as my foot planted solidly on the floor. I took last season off, didn't race much the year before, but looking forward to a full season this year....and after the 1st event, I am chomping at the bit to get back out there! Two weeks away and hopefully warmer weather. This is gonna be FUN!!!
Nice Job! |

Nice course and nice job.
I'm surprised though that you were getting inside wheel spin. I don't experience that on an auto-x course, but it's probably because you're running A6's with stock suspension.
