Default Trading in my Datsun for 350Z to Track

So I have decided to sell my Datsun roadster to make room for a 350z to turn into a track car.

I will be taking my first classes in July, and would like to learn in a 350, and keep the 370 at home. Does anyone have a 1-10 list of do's and don'ts when selecting a car with the intention of morphing into a total track car?

EX. Pick up a "track" version and use the brembos, or grab a Base and start from scratch.

Thanks for any help you mighty racers!

This is where I will be training, and will be my home track. motorsportranch.com

I'd suggest looking to the NASA Spec-Z rules before you go mod-crazy, and keep yourself eligible for that class as you look to the future.

You have a 370z too! I would start getting seat time in the 370, wait until someone comes out with a class for us and use the money from the Datsun on a daily. But 350z's are a lot cheaper to fix. Give the 370 2 more years and all of the prices will drop.
