Default Next track day in Socal?

Well I just got my Z last week and I figure what better time to lose my track virginity

I did a search but did'nt find what I was looking for. When/where is the next organized track day in Socal? Ideally something geared toward first-timers and amateurs. Or at least can someone point me in the right direction to get more info? Thanks fellas

Redline puts on great events... In fact we will be competing this weekend at redline time attack

Although I wouldn't advise Redline Time Attack if its your first, or even second track day. The cars in the beginner group will likely be a lot faster than ones at a normal track day.

^ I agree. I looked at the website for the Redline Time attack and it looks a little intimidating for a beginner like myself. The Speed Ventures seems more my speed for the time being. They have an event coming up at Buttonwillow on June 6 &7 with a 1st time instruction/orientation. Looks geared towards beginner, 1st timers. Thanks for the info DD!

NP. SpeedVentures is awesome. If I go to a regular track event (non-time attack), 9/10 times its with SpeedVentures.

For first timers I highly recommend BMW CCA (oops, did I mention BMW? My bad). In fact, there's a DE at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana (formerly California Speedway, the same venue that NASCAR uses except we also use the infield road course in addition to 1/3rd of the oval). This Saturday and Sunday (May 30/31). In car instruction all day, with class-room instruction that's invaluable sprinkled through-out the weekend.

There's also a Buttonwillow Raceway event on Friday too if you are crazy enough to do all three days.

High Performance Driving School

BMW Car Club Los Angeles - Club Haus

Feel free to stop by at Auto Club Speedway, I think they'll have 2 parade laps where ANYONE can take their car on the track for 20 minutes (except you MUST follow parade lap rules), or you can catch rides with instructors all day long.

Speed Ventures

Streets of Willow. June 19th. I think I'll be there with a bunch of people from the Civic forums.

I have to say, the BMW club puts on great events. The instructors are knowledgeable, the costs are low, and they are well run. The ones in NorCal get a fair amount of people without Beemers, just because they're some of the better trackdays in town...

That is your tow hook.

Each organization is different on requirements but having your tow hook in, long sleeve shirt, long pants, and a SNELL 2005 or later helmet are all pretty safe bets for stuff that will be required.

That is the front tow hook right? Is there anywhere to connect it in back?

Yes thats the front tow hook. There is a tow hook on the back underneath the car on the driver's side by the exhaust.

The rear tow hook is where I zip tie my transponder. It's an excellent mounting point. Does anyone know what size the stock tow hook is? I want to get a nice red one.
