FYI, an auto 370Z has already ran a 13.1. 12's are possible stock.

If I ever came home with a 12.99 I would be happy.

I'm pretty confident I could do 12.99 or better today on my 7AT, assuming no launch or traction problems. I'm waiting to go to the strip until I get a little further along in the mod process though.

make sure to save the slips and record it!

I bet mine and a few others here could pull it off.

Stop assuming your car is capable of xxx and go out an do it. Because until *you* accomplish such a task in *your* car, posts like "my car should be able to..." are basically worthless.

That being said, a 6mt driver should be able to see high 12's in good air with nothing but DR's.

You could try it too you know. Oh wait.. you have to actually have a Z for that! :owned:

Seriously, why don't you buy a 370 and take it to a dragstrip yourself, then come back and complain. I'm not a drag strip junkie, I only plan on going once or twice with this car ever, and I'm waiting for a couple more mods to be done before I do it.

Almost every car I've ever driven that was stick went faster in the 1/4 than the manufacturer published. But I also beat the piss out of the car when I do it. I'd put money down that I could make the car run 13 flat or faster bone stock. With those mods, maybe 12.8 to 12.6.

t-ray 05-14-2009 09:15 AM

After re-reading what I wrote - yes, I did contract myself because I was not clear.

I don't know if the car is going to be able to touch 12s bone stock. But the car is more than capable of hitting high 12's with nothing but good air and DR's. That is a fact.

The other point - I don't understand why anybody got his panties in a wad over my comments. I'm not putting down the z, or any particular driver, or anything like that. But I've been doing this long enough that I've seen plenty of people say something like "well I should run xxx" then go out and run a full second slower. Hell, I've done it myself.

There's a thread right now where a guy ran high 13's at 102mph, and he's modded. Everybody is running around telling him that he needs to launch better, or take of VDC, bla bla bla. Nobody seems to have noticed that he's running at Firebird. Hell, 102mph at Firebird is not bad at all.

And I don't have to own a 370, or even a z, to post about it or join a forum about it. I want a z, badly, but I can't have one. Just too impractical. But I know what I'm talking about. At the moment, I'm the fastest all-motor g35 in north america, at least that I know of.
