I did take it to the track and hit a 13 flat at 105 or 108 or something with it dead bone stock on the stock street tires. The 60's were horrible at 2.1x and it still hit 13.080. I had the launch down, but the shift from 1-2 would fish tail, poor track prep and street tires won't get it done.

I have no doubt with some grip I could get my Z easily in to the 12s....I'd guess a 12.7 or 12.8 pretty easily.

With a REAL sticky tire probably 12.50s.
I bet that was with a car of more then 4,000lbs.

With slicks & 4.08 gears you can do 1.7's 60' with a 370z, & the Z besides being much lighter, drives straight like an arrow.

You have experience. Why don't you go for it.....

The Challenger weighs 4285 with me in the seat at the track.

I may see if the slicks from my Challenger will fit the Z, but I already have one drag car. The Z is just a fun daily driver toy for me. I am quite impressed with it in stock form though. It's faster than a 2010 SRT8 Challenger stock for stock. Pretty amazing for a V6.

Slicks might be too tall & that would ruin the gear ratio/break an axle.
Didn't realize you still had a drag car.

Why bother.

Haha, well it's half drag car half show car. I drove it to work yesterday LOL. Gets 18 city and 24 hwy. Not bad for 600RWHP.

Default Give it time.

The same reason the 370Z hasn't been as quick as the 350Z is the same reason the G37 isn't as quick as the G35, or a 2010 STI isn't as quick as a 2004 STI: The cars are relatively new, and most newer owners go VERY carefully on mods and track time.

These cars are purchased new for reasons other than track time, and the development of parts and combinations that work takes time.

There is a G35 that's gone tens. (So have a bunch of 350Z's) I'm the absolute quickest G37 (that I have seen posted anywhere), and I'm almost .5 tenths slower.

Even bolt on N/A mods are lesser in numbers.

Andre, I'm scratching my head, too, but this will take some years before the 370 will catch up to the proven 350. What's your experience and abilities with your Z?

Thanks.

Coop

First I'd like to congratulate you on your very quick times, especially with a car that is heavier than a Z.

As far as an answer to your question. I don't want people getting sick from my bragging so please go to the sister forum "my350z.com" Drag section, click top 25 350z 1/4 mile times, then go down to bolt-ons 07/08 vq35hr list & you'll see my name.
I can also suggest page 127 posts 2523 & 2524(videos). Page 130 post 2593 & page 131 post 2611. Look at 60' times.

All with factory stock intakes, y pipe, mid-pipe(resonator delete) & STOCK muffler. I believe the car makes apx 280H.P.
Thanks for asking.
