Default First time on a track -- Tire question

Hello everyone. I have been building my 370 as my toy as she is now not my daily driver. I will be taking her to the track for the first time next month, and I would like to know if you all have some suggestions for track tires. It is in Texas, so it will probably be pretty warm when I go.

Please respond with ideas! I am running Ventus V12s right now in 275 front and 305 rear. I am thinking of picking up a spare set for track days only...

street tires for your first 5-10 events. Once you master that, then switch to stickier tires.

For your first session you'd probably be fine with the V12's if you've never been on a track before. I didn't have any real complaints. Although it was in the middle of winter so the temperatures were very good (Around 55 degrees). I'm not sure I would trust them on a 100 degree day.

It is Texas, and May. It may very well be 100°!

Have you previously done any track events in other cars? If not, I think they'll still handle just fine for you. You didn't mention if you were looking for street compound or R-compound. For street compound you can bump up to something like the RE-11's, Starspecs, Pilot SS, etc. There really are a ton of great choices for very sticky street tires.

There are others here that know far more about this than me however.
