12.30 @111.69 all motor/street tires

So we went back to the track tonight, wanting to take advantage of the cold snap and my new tires(285/35/19 re-11's). I got in 5 passes:
1st: 12.57 @112.49
2nd: 12.53@112.94
3rd: 12.77 @113.02
4th: 12.61 @112.96
5th: 12.30 @111.96 (1.80 60 ft)

i am very very pleased with the tires!! tranceformer (ray) will be posting up all the time slips.

WOW... this seals the deal on buying gears and LTH, that is just sick dude...

great driving!

Your car is a beast ! What did you dyno and what kind of dyno ? Any weight reductions ?

chuckd05 11-05-2010 10:56 PM

Also curious as to why the last pass was quicker with a slower trap... what did you do differently ... do you power shift each gear ? 1.80 on street tires is very very impressive.. my bad for double post but this is a great feat here..

chuck, when you have more traction you tend to loose mph. yes i am a little lighter than stock, nothing is in the rear, new seats and a battery mounted in the rear. yes i did power shift.

chuckd05 11-05-2010 11:02 PM

Nice :) just bolt on so far, correct?

m4a1mustang 11-06-2010 09:15 AM

Hell yeah, dude! I always knew the 6MT would haul with the right driver behind the wheel. A 7AT just can't launch like that.

What was the temp and DA on the night?

You're just a 1.6x 60' away from the 11s (assuming the diff and axles would take a 5k pop on et streets of course). Congrats dude, that's awesome! :tup:

370Zsteve 11-06-2010 09:20 AM

WOW! :rock:

fairladyZ34 11-06-2010 09:30 AM

great runs bro!

tranceformer 11-06-2010 10:10 AM

DA's last night at PBIR:
8pm = 82
9pm = -23
10pm = -53
11pm = -258

Posting Jay's slips & pics [cause he sucks with computers]. Luckily he's good at other things beside that. :icon17:

nice runs br0 :tup:

m4a1mustang 11-06-2010 01:28 PM

Looking at these pics on my mobile so I can't really tell, but what have you done for weight reduction? It looks like a racing seat and no passenger seat?

Mercennarius 11-06-2010 01:47 PM

Very nice!

ChrisSlicks 11-06-2010 02:07 PM

Impressive Jay! Just think what you could have done with some Nitto NT-01's, those hook up really well off the line.

Did you make camber adjustments to the rear?

both seats are in the car, but it is empty in the rear except for the battery.

haha thanks but idk as the re-11's held to a 1.80 60ft. its was a dead hook at 3700rpm launch. As for the alignment 100% stock suspention also.

What makes you say a 7At can't launch like that?

da mayor 11-06-2010 03:00 PM

wolf370z 11-06-2010 06:00 PM

That is beyond impressive for a freakin' bolt-on NA v6... amazing time!! :tup::tup:

Rooskey 11-06-2010 06:04 PM

Right at 90mph in the 1/8 is pretty strong. Great job. If you dont mine me asking what other mods do you have besides the headers and gears.

I have both the RE-11's and Nitto NT-01's. The Nitto's hook pretty hard at a 5K rpm launch, probably get you down to a 1.7 60ft.

GZ3 11-06-2010 09:21 PM

Good GOD almighty! What a badass time...so much for the Z not being a decent drag car...but HR 350 is still faster

mspeasl 11-06-2010 10:17 PM

Launch RPM

^^ This. You'd have to get a high-stall TC to be able to launch the 7AT like an MT.

But hot damn. -200 DA + traction = WIN! :tup:

Red370 11-07-2010 08:09 PM

thats effin amazing dude, if you posted this on the Mustang forum, you'd be flamed to hell and back and called a liar, color me impressed. I'd like to see you make a few passes in my 5.0, lord knows I cant drive that thing to what its capable of! A win for Z's everywhere, congrats.

DannyGT 11-07-2010 08:12 PM

Is that one of those downhill tracks? ;)

LOL, good times man! Thats as impressive as it gets...What else did you have done? No sneaky peak shot of nitrous?

I doubt it, dude. With the power he is making, plus his gearing, plus traction, plus that DA, no one that knows anything about 1/4 mile racing will doubt those runs.

This is what traction will do for you. J is making his time at the short end of the track (where it matters). The sucker is hooking up!
