12.68 @ 111.4 bolt-ons/stock tires

so i have been asked to create a new thread about my 12.6 @111 pass.
I would rather have it all under one thread, but more info and time slip is here...

Awesome job!
Great 60 foot for stock tires.

klubbheads 09-03-2010 04:26 PM

great time!
Track name and date?

and +1 on the 60ft. I never realised you can go sub 2.0 on a Z with street tires.

GZ3 09-03-2010 04:38 PM

thanks jnaut!!

Juruki 09-03-2010 04:53 PM

great times!

That is some awesome performance and skilled driving to get a 1.90 60ft time on stock tires.
Did you weigh the car at the track with you in it?
What kind of performance did you have before installing the 4.08 gears?

as for the weight it is less than stock, as i have an odessy bat, nothing in the trunk and a set of corbeau's. i would venture to guess around 150 lbs lighter than stock. I went 12.9@106 with the gears, flywheel and a cai.

RCZ 09-08-2010 09:19 PM

Haha, yeah you might win quarter mile runs with that turbo, but my car is a DD....

150 lbs seems pretty generous... you should weigh the car to get an official weight. Just have to say though that time is mighty impressive for a bolt-on/geared/tuned 370z with stock tires nonetheless! Oh and a little weight reduction. On a side note, how streetable do you find your car?

With the plastic and junk out the rear, the exhaust resonates a lot. It runs and drives beautifully, but loud. :driving:

When i get the turbo done, ima prolly put back in all the junk in the rear.

Z eliminator 09-09-2010 09:26 AM

My car is stripped when i race and it weights 3420 with me in it (200 lbs) Its very loud inside, Sounds incredable.
He has a nice fast car, can not wait to see what it runs at the track with the turbos.
You will have to give RCY at least a 1 second head start or more.

RCZ 09-10-2010 07:51 AM

haha, at least a two car length jump. This is pinks all out right?

98intrigue 09-10-2010 10:17 PM

Wowwww! Thats an amazing time NA! 12.25 @ 116mph was my he's time in my G35 and that was with 350whp.

You are now my idol for dragging the 370. I'll be going to the track soon enough. I wish I had my car up here in Connecticut! I'm up here for training...its a nice 60 degrees out.

TBSS2008 09-13-2010 09:25 AM

Looks like the 6spd 370z has finally trumped the 7AT! Weather is going to start getting cooler I believe the race for the fastest NA 370z has just begun but now I got to beat 12.68 not going to be easy. Can't wait to see what some boosted Z's will do.

Post your time at Drag Racing 1/4 Mile times 0-60 Dyno Fast Cars Muscle Cars - DragTimes.com you will be at the top of the 370z list!

m4a1mustang 09-13-2010 09:33 AM

Wonder what kind of abuse the rear end could take with some ET Streets on the back.

Skinnies up front, ET streets out back, remove the front sway bar, and pray that it stays together. Should be good for a low 12.

I see... well how do you feel the car handles from a high(er) speed pull.. like going from 20-100, 40-120, etc.

NO problems, as i have had the car to 168mph on its speedo. If i was to go faster, i do think it would need more down force in the rear.

That's awesome man... just difficult to imagine that you're pulling a 12.6 and trapping 111 with just bolt-on/geared/tuned 370z.... do you feel like you could have gotten a bit faster time or is that about the limit for the car you think?

At 89F and with a DA of 2000 there is definitely room for him to improved his time and trap speed. 12.68 @ 111 is a really good in those conditions.

To the OP I think your Z is capable of running 12.5X when the weather is cooler and you get a better DA closer to 500.

also on the 12.6 pass it is not my best 60' . i have gotten a 1.903 , so that alone would better my time on the big end!

wolf370z 09-19-2010 09:32 PM

12.5 would be an incredible achievement, I have full confidence in ya!!

all of them...lol, stillen g3/pulley, fast intentions headers/exhaust, osrius, gears.

PR370z 11-30-2010 07:08 AM

At what RPM do you guys launch to get sub 2.0 60ft times? Any recomendations appreciated. Also whats the best RPM to shift, will be drag racing my car soon and what to get good results. At least low 13's

jnaut 11-30-2010 07:35 AM

i launch around 37 -3800 rpm, dont lift the throttle to shift at 8k rpm. atleast this is what i do, but your driving depends on what mods you have done.

At what RPM does the eng limit from the factory? This wont hurt the eng 8,000 RPM's, I thought peak HP was obtained at around 7400 RPM. Thanks for the info

jnaut 11-30-2010 10:18 AM

7500 is factory limit, with the mods i have done my max hp was achieved 7940 rpm.
