hahaha. Honestly I dont think anyone will top 12.3 but Id be THRILLED with a 12.6 or better...

and I will acheive that with MT ET Streed Radial II's not with re-11's like the mr Jnauughty

Dark_Sub_Rosa 11-30-2010 09:12 PM

So what's that do for your shift points and top speed? I had a 4.77 in an S2k and ended up putting my stock 4.10 back in. It was too much rowing of the gears and ended up being too much. Also what about speedo recalculation?

NoZYet 11-30-2010 10:48 PM

great car and driving skills, you should bring that thing out here to the Texas Mile bro.

He would have to go back to the longer gears...

speedo is not effected by gear change in the 370

We should do a track day! The weather is getting cooler finally. Since FL is usually so warm, the tracks stay open most the year...unlike up north.

I'm actually planning on going to Bradenton next Thursday. I'm still disappointed my car only makes 293whp with all my mods...I want to dyno on a dynojet to verify my numbers though. My 105mph trap speed does kind of already verify it though :(

I'll be in Tampa for the Run, but I don't think I'll be doing any tracking though.

Depending on the correction factor, you are probably in the 295-300ish whp ballpark on a dynojet (or at least the one at PP). You have basically the same mods I have and that's right where I'm at.

I also have the UpRev tune though...and the Motordyne manifold:icon17:

Both only net a few extra ponies up top, and the IM makes most of it's gains in the mid range, but I'll readjust my prediction to, say 298 - 308 give or take then.

Only one way to find out... :stirthepot:

If you're in the Clearwater/St Pete area you could also go to Pete Stop if you don't feel like driving to Tampa -- they have the same model dynojet.

I think i need a winter vaction in Florida. Driver and car.
The car runs much quicker now. the motordyne intake makes a real differnece in the cold weather, 35 F. Just to let you guys now its snowing up here now. I can not wait to find an empty parking lot one night and do figure 8's and snow drifting.
Im going to be getting a camera for the car.
Its so nice to have heated seats.
The tranny build is coming along nicely Torque converter is being shipped and the VB ,is coming along nicely acording to Sam at GTM.

GTM stage 2, 4.08 gear's, 3200 stall TC. VB. uprev tuned, 305 35 18 drag radials + one insane crazy Canadian driver = 11.?

RCZ " WHEN THE Z GETS THERE WE HAVE A DATE AT THE DRAG STRIP
THE STILLEN VS GTM SC DRAG RACE "

At the track on opening day in April 2011 Toronto Motor Sports Park.

I'm just going to go ahead and put in my prediction now. Crazy Canadian + highly modifed 370Z = 11.3 @ 124mph with 1.6 60'.

Wow! I'd love to see what your car puts down on a dynojet for comparison before you get the turbo on (well, and after too :excited: )

Word to the wise: When you get the car tuned, remind the tuner that if he has to rescale load values to account for boost, this will mess with the shift schedule in auto mode, and excessive gear hunting might be part of what contributes to the AT's failure with the extra power going through it.

None of this may matter, or he may have already thought about it, but wouldn't hurt to just run it by him.

Did you pick up a bigger fluid cooler too?

96bigbody 12-03-2010 01:10 AM

Nice to see a 370 going to the 1/4..but flywheels and gears are not boltons.

I always use the MM when drag racing. My base line is 264.9 rwhp.

But lets not forget who the quickist 370z in the 1/4 mile is
Jnaut he is the man. 12.3 with bolt ons.
He will be into the 11's before me.
Can not wait to see his time.

I havent read the whole thread so I don't know if this was brought up or not, but I am going to guess you have some sort or weight reduction and were WOT shifting (power shifting).

People really don't realize how much WOT helps get your car to run a better 1/4 mile time as well as increase in trap speed.

GZ3 12-03-2010 10:27 AM

he does not lift to shifttttt

Once the car hooks. You never lift till you go throught the traps. 7800 to 7900 rpm is a good rpm to shift at limiter is set at 8100 rpm.
The differenatal is a bolt on . its attatched with bolts.

God bless the 7 AT.

jnaut 12-07-2010 09:10 PM

were going back to the track tomorrow as we just got another cold snap...wootwoot

Dark_Sub_Rosa 12-07-2010 09:29 PM

The whole car is attached with bolts, it's really hard to consider gears a bolt on mod in the general sense of modding.

Spend some time on the American car forums, gears are in the bolt on category.

so.... you have an iphone or what ? Lol

any miracle times yet ?

Z eliminator 12-08-2010 10:31 PM

Good news the 3200rpm torque converter from GTM arrived today. Should have it on by next friday.
The bad news , lots of snow here and more on the way.
Can not believe what a 1/4 of tranny fluid cost's for the 370 7 AT.
25.00 + 13% tax
$ 300.00 to change fluid.

Well... I feel I cheated as I removed passenger seat plus put our spare tires on the front. Horrible track prep! No traction at all but I ran12.3 @ 114.5 with 1.95 60ft. My previous best was 12.3@111.3with 1.80 60ft. Massive increase of trap speed!

chuckd05 12-09-2010 10:40 AM

WOW, ur nuts dude, thats insane 114.5 trap...

how did the car feel up top.... why dont u go buy some MT ET Street radial 2's... youll run a 12.1ish or maybe even better?!?!?!?

thats ridiculous... -450 da is awesome too though..

Also do you now have a light for the airbag that the dealer must reset ? Or can you ?
