Default Alternative to StopTech Sport Brake Pads

I've done 20+ HPDE events with my daily driver Nismo using StopTech Sport pads (309.13460) with Z1 two-piece rotors and have found that they give me adequate stopping power with consistent feel, while being quiet and minimal dust for daily driving. However, now I'm finding that they are completely out-of-stock everywhere I check (Mar 2022); so I'm going to have to switch for upcoming events.

So, this question is mainly for those who have experience with tracking the StopTech 309 Sport pads - what would you recommend as a replacement and how do they compare?

Sounds like your using the same pad street and track. It works for a while but its going to start holding you back. I'm not familiar with the stoptech pads so they could be much better than I'm assuming, but usually something that can be referred to as "quiet" isn't too aggressive. Gloc and carbotech both make great track pads.

A lot of people run a higher friction pad in the front vs rear too. I'm running Gloc R12 in front and R8 out back as advised by the manufacturer.

The Endless MX72 (+) is what ive read to be the best street/track combo pads

Otherwise most track people here use Carbotechs geared more to track use

Itullos, have you tried Tire Rack? It's listed as "available from supplier" there.

From Itullos's previous posts, seems like he's been on track enough times, but not really trying to push the envelope too much, reason for a mild pad like this satisfies his needs.

I echo the MX72 (if you can swallow the high initial cost). I've read over and over, across different platforms, heavy or light cars, MX72 being quiet, last long, good pedal feel, wide heat range, basically the perfect hybrid pad, for those that aren't hardcore on lap times of course. Once I have used up my current inventory, I would love to give
MX72 a try as well.

I dislike the stoptech sport outside of street use. They fade at the track much faster than the R10 pads I've used on the same car (e46 m3). R10's never fade on me, but the stoptech sport fade after less than 10 minutes. Only used them one day because they came with a stoptech bbk. We now use them as street pads.

I use Gloc R12 front and r10 rear. Some like running more stagger than that.
Easy to switch between those and R6 pads for street and autocross use. With both gloc and Carbotech, transfer layers between pad compounds are compatible, so nothing special is needed during pad swaps between the street and track set.

For dual duty pads, I've had a few friends swear by ST43's, to add to others already mentioned.

At some point you will need to make a choice between track street brakes. Endless is about as good as you will get for dual duty. Brake pads are easy to change out, so get a set for street and a set to track.

Just took off the carbotechs and grabbed a set of street pads for this reason. They had a ton of life left so I’ll be hanging on to them for track days in the future since a pad swap is less than 10 minutes per corner with the right tools. Couldn’t stand the squeal and dust when dailying the car.

I love my Carbotech XP10s on the street. Wheels turn black within 3 days and the low speed parking lot squeal is worse than nails on a chalkboard
