How do you like the hps for autox tho? My car currently has carbotechs but I’m looking to step it down since I only autox right now and I hate the amount of dust that the xp10/xp8 throw off. Was thinking about just going with an OEM type pad like centric posi quiets

Also, regarding toe changes through the suspension sweep, it really shouldn't. The way the suspension is designed that would be a highly undesirable feature and would lead to bump steer if the car encountered a bump on one side or the other. From doing my own chassis setup for the last few seasons I've found that you can change the height pretty much as much as you like and that will only affect camber. However, once you correct or adjust camber it will throw off toe.

This is good to know. I’m going to raise my car ~1/2” at least and was planning on getting an alignment after. But sounds like I may be able to get away without it. We’ll see.

for autocross they're fine. you arent on the brakes long enough to get anything really hot and they have decent enough bite.

I just did a 1400 mile round roadtrip to a track day event in Central México.

My 09 did pretty decent lap times (255,305 Pzero helped a lot)

However I did not have a chance to install and test the oil cooler, trans cooler and oil pressure gauge before the trip. I definitely didn't want to blow up in the middle of the highway. Oil temps were 250-265 and I slowed down past 265. I had enough "heat" margin to do one or two hot laps with cooldown in between. Never got to limp mode. Tranny was sluggish almost at the end of two sessions (out of 7) and also had to cool down. No diff or brake issues (non sport brakes with VLSD)

I will be installing all of this soon and test it on the next local track day!

BTW, the oil temp cannot keep up with highway cruise speeds of over 110 mph on hills or 130+ MPH pulls for over 3 minutes :icon14:. It definitively needs coolers. Cruise control doesn´t work over 90 MPH too. Don't get surprised, mexican toll highways are great, traffic moves FAST, better in the weekend mornings with little traffic:tup:

I was amazed, the car is decently comfortable for long trips and drives great at high speeds on the highway.

By the way, for the mexican hot summer (110+F) and spirited driving with occasional track days, do you guys recommend moving to 5W40? I use 5W30 Mobil 1.

If weather permits, first test date on the new build. See how a turbo motor will hold up

Slicks

So I just got back from my 14th track day at Palmer Motorsports Park in MA. I love the "Lapping Days" because for $400 you get 5 hours of track time...(4) 1:15 sessions. With gas what it is now, I look for the biggest track day bang for my buck that I can find.

Anyways, best time at Palmer, ever, was 1:53 and change running R888R's. Yesterday was my first time running a scuffed set of Pirelli P Zero slicks (285/645/18) on my RPF1's from Todd Zimmer of GT Racing Tires. Wow.

Like I said, my best time over the previous 13 trips to Palmer was 1:53 and change...I ran a 1:48 yesterday. I was in the 1:51 to 1:49 range most of the day.

Between the new aero (front splitter and rear wing from BattleAero) and those slicks, I can't believe the decrease in lap times!

I think the importance of aero and tires is one of the more biggest lessons from the time attack craze the last decade or so

Forgot I posted here. Welp went as planned. 3 off’s and overheating witching 3 laps. Back to the drawing board with diy ducting to see if it helps with cooling. Going to try ducting myself before taking it a shop to get the entire front end sealed off.
