Best bet is to look for a used trailer. Aluminum trailers that haven't been heavily abused hold up very well and should be cheaper that new by a decent amount.

Might checkout racingjunk.com. They often have listings for decent used trailers.

Great minds think alike. That is where I have been looking. I would prefer a used one that someone else took the hit on and hardly used.

Yeah, I could do that but what would be the fun in it. I would miss out on searching for the needle in the hay stack. I can justify spending the money on one, Why not see if I can find one at a good price.

Getting closer. Sundowner is a good trailer.

I have the car carrying version of one of these because "old-man" and can load on my own.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJyrLJuL_qg

Wasn't cheap though ~ $10K AUD but it tows like a dream and has a payload of 1320 kgs

Has been self built for around $7K AUD for steel, airbags and control equipment and registration.

Is open deck but does have the ali front to it which protects the car from road debris

European based but you could also look at these .... www.turatello,co.uk but I suspect you'd be better off seeking USDM trailer

Ouch, this is par for the coarse. Champagne taste and beer wallet. It is $26,900. That is more than I want to spend.

What options were on it? I bought mine for far less, and in Canadian dollars... The US greenback is far more favourable.

A little bigger than what I would like but it is a good deal.

Finding the right trailer for the right price is being difficult. This is going to take a while.

I have seen some plans for an air-bagged enclosed trailer that an engineer mate built for ~A$6K in materials.

I guess by the time you paid a fabricator/welder and a sparkie to wire it, you might get to A$10K ......... worth a look ??

If you are interested, I can connect you to him ...........
