Default Tracking with oem thermostat on

Hey guys. Installed z1 34 row oil cooler with their thermostat, went to track for intensive 30 minutes. Temps were around 250 (~120c). When installing oil cooler didn't do the oem thermostat bypass tho to keep the car street drivable. Would you think bypassing oem thermostat into z1 lines would still keep it daily drivable?

You will be fine.

The thermostatic sandwich plate on the Z1 oil cooler kit will be open and working to cool your oil when you are getting it hot on track.

The oem thermostat for coolant will maintain a stable coolant temperature for the car regardless of conditions.

The oem sandwich plate for the 2012+ oem oil cooler is not a thermostat, and always circulates coolant in an attempt to stabilize oil temps. This will have almost not affect at track temperatures.

Well as i understand the original one is just heating the oil while z1 cooler is trying to cool it while tracking. Thus getting 120c+ stable temp in stress testing, or is the temp normal with 34row cooler?

I removed the lines per the Z1 instructions, but instead of capping them, I ran a bit of heater hose from the lower to the upper lines to form a loop...I had issues with the silicone caps and wanted reliability.

250 after a hard session on the track is normal with a 34-row cooler. Before I had my cooler, I would hit 300 in the CA heat.
