Recommened tire pressures for upcoming HPDE event

Default Recommened tire pressures for upcoming HPDE event

Attending one on Saturday, with five 25min sessions spanning from 5pm until midnight. Quite a unique setting and I'm really looking forward to it.

Currently, I'm on brand new RE11s (265F/305R) running a -1.8 up front and -2.2 in the rear...

Just curious, for spirited backroad runs and 2-4 HPDE events like this, does this sound like a good place to be without overly affected wear and tear and still getting good life from the tires? Also, for the track event specifically, whats a good psi f/r to maximize the capability of the car?

Looks like it'll be 75 during the day, dipping down to about 60 at night...should be great! Not sure if that affects your decision on certain pressures.

There are many variables to it, but your alignment is fine.

Start with a cold pressure of 29 front 31 rear. Check after your first session on track. Manage pressure from 32-36 psi based on edge wear. Use a broad chalk marker or take temperature readings across the tire.

Uchida Bistro Chalk Marker Jumbo Bulk White - Walmart.com

Feel free to leave the rears higher to reduce grip in the back. Anything near 40 psi is too high.

Was planning to score them. I'll test those pressures out on the first run, thanks!

FYI - ran 30F, 32R cold...seems like the car handled incredibly well and balanced. Once I began really really pushing it, I could still feel a tiny bit of understeer, but I'll need to camber out the front more and play with the softness/sway bar settings in the rear to dial it in.
