Full FEA analysis has been done to ensure strength.
Please note the 18x11 at that weight was for a car with practically 0 pad. For the 370z guys with the big brakes in the back the pad will be greater. with pocketing and spoke shaving you will more than likely be in the high teens low 20's depending on offset.
