Default Houston Area 370z People, AAA of Texas Friday Safe Street Night

AAA of Texas Friday Safe Street Night takes place every Friday night when no official drag racing event is going on! It is at Houston Raceway Park in Baytown, this is where the NHRA holds an event (the O'Reilley Sring Nationals) every year! $20 to run the strip, $10 for spectators and children 12 and under are free!

On their Friday street nights, do they require current helmet certification or can you use an older helmet? Both of my helmets are snell M85.
Other than a catch can on the radiator overflow, do they require anything else? Do they enforce the driveshaft loop rule for et's under 13.00(wishful thinking here on getting under 13.00)?

I haven't ran the Z on the track yet (been to it just two times and I live a mile from the track as a crow flies) but I'm pretty sure I seen guys dragging without a helmet, could be wrong though! As far as the catch can and driveshaft loop rule, not sure at all on those two! The guys running w/o a helmet seemed to be driving fairly stock vehicles but the ones driving the really souped up rides definitely had helmets on!!!

You need a helmet if under 13 or above like 108mph. You could get away with wearing a cheap bicycle helmet. They've never checked me.

The last time I raced at HRP was in the 80's. I had to wear a three layer quilted fire suit, gloves, a neck collar and wrist straps. Houston is just too hot to be wearing all that gear for 8 seconds of fun. I'm looking forward to finding out what my Z can do.

Many of the tracks are pretty fair, I see guys running 12.5 without helmets many times. But I think the regulars get helmets so they follow the rules and such, but this event is a bit far for me.
