I watch A LOT of Barcelona matches-- probably 90%-- & have seen them lose or draw a few games, but I've never seen them lose to a team who was positive. It's always been the teams who 'park the bus.'
In the first leg of the semifinal last year, Internazionale sat back, absorbed pressure, & then hit on the break. Arsenal scored a break goal, but consistently tried to play in Barca's half of the field. |

Agreed though that nobody in La Liga, even Real Madrid (who are now coached by Jose Parkthebusho), want to take it to Barca. It seems like when the Blaugrana roll into town, it's a matter of damage limitation, which I don't really like to see. Credit where its due, Barca absolutely shat on Arsenal in terms of possession. We got lucky on RvP's goal, too, but if this doesn't instill confidence in the Gunners, I don't know what will. They should feel like the Premier League is there for the taking right now. BTW - Szczesny is a nutjob. |

blue - indeed it will be tough, but the team, as they stand right now, can rise to such an occasion. it's going to be one hell of an away match for sure.

Even if Arsenal doesn't progress, last night was special & will go a LONG way to instilling belief in the young players that they're capable of doing great things.

Did you guys notice Arshavin's shirt as he celebrated? It had a picture of himself doing the "sshh" celebration with a giant "A" like he's superman.
Dude's nuts, but I like it. |

![]() i want that shirt. that celebration was hilariously good. it's nice to see him in a good mood after scoring a goal for once too seems like the whole team has just gone bonkers after szczesny became the no. 1. cool! amusing stat from arsenal-theoffside: our starting XI that just beat barca at their own game cost 39 million pounds to assemble. andy carroll cost 35 million pounds to liverpool. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..........................??? ??????????????? blue - nou camp is going to be one hell of a return leg, and yes the away goal can undo things in a heartbeat. but everybody acknowledges the grove, for one night, was an absolute fortress, regardless of how lame the stadium singing 'wonder of you' might be. the players responded very well, and it (it being the victory over FCB) instills in them the belief to go out and really compete for every trophy we can get. wish the grove was always like that, sometimes the naysayers get the better of the team. make no mistake, there is no denying that barca are still overwhelming favorites to progress. i'm sure we pissed off little leo messi, and we know what he can do in the span of 90 minutes in the camp. but for now, we also know it's going to be a fight to the finish.
