Inter's problem = Gian Piero Gasperini

phelan 09-17-2011 06:47 PM

He will be sacked before December if their form does not improve. Muntari for Forlan, really?

Chelsea...http://forums.clubrsx.com/images/smilies/facepalm4.gif

We should have won that game. If not a win, a draw at least. 4 glaring opportunities in front of goal gone begging. Most of which, Fernando Torres' historic miss 5 yards in front of an open net. He might recover from it, be he needs to score, and score a lot to get his confidence back.

phelan 09-19-2011 10:11 AM

That miss was absurd. I was basically turning around to grab another drink, fully expecting to see the next kick-off after Chelsea celebrates a little, but...

my god, WIDE OPEN NET. Even I could side foot that in!

jon, just had to quote 5th official on this:
Quote:

His was even quite an achievement to scoop the 'miss of the match' award after Ramires and Dimitar Berbatov provided strong entries. Torres' travails also let a certain Roonatic off the hook after his embarrassing penalty slip, though one can't reject completely the notion he did it just to remind John Terry about his Champions League final tears in Moscow.
:rofl2:

Jon@AAMComp 09-19-2011 11:37 AM

That final in Moscow still brings terrible memories. Ugh. Everytime I see the Champions League opening video, and the camera is panning around that arena with the previous winners I think to myself, should have been JT raising that trophy and not Rooney. :shakes head: But he's right, that's the first thing I thought of when I saw him slip. Almost an exact replica.

Still a lot of positives from that game though. I really, really like Juan Mata. I liked the ball movement, we looked very threatening on the counter. Its clear that Villas Boas wants to win with more style, not surprising considering he was here under the Mourinho years. I am concerned with the Right back position. I'd show Bosingwa the door. Ignazio Abate anyone?

phelan 09-19-2011 12:52 PM

But...Mata had olé defense for Nani's BRILLIANT shot.

Jon@AAMComp 09-19-2011 02:00 PM

I agree Mata should have put more pressure on him, but in all honesty, he's a winger/forward. He's not a midfielder accustomed to making clean challenges. Surely he was thinking of not giving away another free kick in a dangerous area. Now Meireles on the other hand, should have done better putting Nani under pressure. I think Mata thought for sure being the first player behind the ball, having let Nani past, that a midfielder would come to clean up before he unleashed a shot.

Lesson learned, haha.

if we don't go on a winning run, robin will put in a transfer request in january. FML.

Talk before FIFA. See how smart I am? Remember this when I predict games/leagues :icon17:

phelan 09-20-2011 11:53 AM

i wanted to chip your keeper TWICE but overbooked my touch at the last second, and gave the GK a chance to grab it. ugh.

chamakh is way too good in FIFA 11. it's like...surreal, as if he's an actual decent player!
