With Madrids starting lineup adding Khedira and Ozil there is no excuse if they dont win the treble.

not this year, but next year they'll be close to unstoppable.

Agreed, they, like any summer spending spree team, need to "gel", look at Man City, the whole team to include the bench, are fuckin world class, and they're stinkin it up right now.

wtf has gotten into Vela lately? dude is on a fuckin tear, i'd say move the Russki onto the left side of the midfield and pair him up top with Chamakh, his form is ridiculous lately. I think the training hes had with the Mexican nats has helped his game quite a bit.

No sir, Blind Pig NYC on E.14th.
Welcome to Blind Pig BAR

Cool place-- they show every CL match, but it's Arsenal NYC's home, so you may be out of your element. Still very worth checking out.

I agree that he's been playing well, but I think some of his form is attributable to his coming on late(r) in matches against an already tired team. Still, one must make the best of his chances & Vela's doing a ridiculously good job of late.

Hilarious:
Quote:
UEFA bans Bayern's Monty Python banner

A number Bayern Munich fans landed themselves in trouble with UEFA this week for having what rule 7.9.1 article 4a in the grey-suited kill-joy rule book defines as 'a sense of humour'.

The Bayern supporters unfurled a Monty Python-inspired banner ahead of their Champions League clash against Roma at the Allianz Arena that read "Romani ite domum"- Latin for "Romans Go Home". Despite being a clear reference to Monty Python's Life of Brian film it was considered provocative by UEFA. The accompanying "Life of Bayern" flag escaped censure.

In a statement, UEFA said: "Anything that may cause offense to a fan base or ethnic group, and therefore pose a security risk, including banners or symbols, is carefully vetted."

But even if we the obvious comedy element is overlooked, "Roman's go home" is hardly the most provocative banner ever seen at a football stadium. Galatasaray's "Welcome to Hell" and the accompanying throat-slitting gestures springs to mind.

Who knew Germans had a sense of humor?

(Yes, Blue, this is the exact post from that other forum).

It was such a fluke. I don't think it was too serious.

thoughts on if that penalty miss is going to haunt rosicky and knock him off form?

I think he'll be fine. He had a good game otherwise. He & Nasri were really holding possession well despite being down a man. I wish Denilson had either laid off that ball or taken it to the corner to kill some time.

But yeah, I think Rosicky will be OK.

Messi only has a sprained ankle. When I saw the challenge, I thought it was over for him for a while.

It looked even worse at full speed.

oh god that picture is NOT pretty. how that's only a sprain is beyond me. his ankle must be made out of rubber instead of bone

btw, i'm now thinking we're in bad shape not because of our centrebacks, but because of our left back. i've been saying clichy is our weak link, and he's showing it a little. very positive forward running, but horrific defensively.

He plays defense well for *most* of the game, but always seems to have one or two screwups that fcuk us.
