Despite being down a goal, the States are looking OK.

blue660r01 05-29-2010 03:08 PM

USA won 2-1

Germany won 3-0

:excited:

dempsey got pretty lucky with that flick underneath the GK haha.

i gotta say, the US defensive line is pretty suspect, but oguchi is a BEAST.

1st half and 2nd half were like night and day.

and i wrote it in the other thread, but findley is like the american theo walcott, runs around like crazy, still a little out of control, but if he can learn the game a little more and play with his head in the game a bit, he'll be fine.

well unfortunately I wasnt able to catch the match tonight because I was at a rock concert in Dallas, it was great mind you, but I was just watching the highlights and is it me, or does Jozy look like a changed man? hes running at defenders, playing in dangerous balls and holding the ball nicely, crazy what a year in the EPL has done for the kid. Overall a pretty damn good performance from the US squad, they showed alot of grit and we'll need boatloads of that come world cup time.

Defense still makes me nervous

cow 05-30-2010 10:00 AM

The defense made me nervous at first, but in the second half they closed down every counter attack very well & actually held possession. I've never seen a US squad hold the ball so well. After Turkey got the goal, it was the best match I've ever seen a USA team play.

The absence of Westermann is yet another blow for Loew ahead of the 2010 World Cup finals. Simon Rolfes, Rene Adler, Michael Ballack and Christian Traesch all will miss this summer's tournament due to injury, too.

At least they're deep.

blue660r01 05-30-2010 11:11 PM

Red370 06-03-2010 05:34 PM

so who seen the Netherlands 4-1 drubbing of Ghana? Sneijder scored a wonder goal, and RvP once again, doesnt miss a penalty, does he ever miss? So news headlines are starting to say that they are one of the favorite to win the cup, and what was I saying a month or two ago??

blue660r01 06-03-2010 05:35 PM

lol @ Italy losing to Mexico
