Wooo! RvP with a brace, Ochoa shat his pants every time he got the ball onto his left foot. I have a feeling this guy is going to shyt all over the world cup, maybe even win the golden boot.

To Kielbasa, I've seen RR play twice, once against Honduras and the other against Costa Rica, guy basically disappeared for 90 minutes, reminds me of Theo Walcott really, has strokes of brilliance, sandwiched between stacks of shitty performances. I will say this though, how relieved are yall that Brian "how the fvck am I playing professional soccer" Ching, didnt make the team? i was pretty pumped about that, never understood how the guy got call ups all the times he did. Gooch didnt play that great last night, but you have to understand, the guy came back from a pretty nasty injury and wants to stay healthy for the world cup, he wasnt giving more than 75%, which is understandable.

Red370 05-26-2010 04:09 PM

Btw, RvP's second volley was fucking ludicrous. The Dutch mean business this year fellas.

You guys are a little too obsessed with Van Persie...I mean yeah hes good and all but you are making him out to be a god lol.

Side note....Im happy with Bradleys selections. And to who said they would like to see Dempsey up front I dont really agree. I would put Altidore with Gomez and Dempsey in CAM

blue660r01 05-26-2010 05:21 PM

Mexico is such garbage btw. Nobody ever believes it. Look at that scoreline and imagine how much worse it would be with the Netherlands 2 best players.

Not going good for Germanys midfield. Ballacks likely replacement is now injured

Quote:

Germany have suffered another World Cup injury blow after it was confirmed midfielder Christian Trasch will miss the tournament after spraining an ankle in a warm-up game on Monday night.

Trasch lasted just eight minutes of the 4-0 friendly win over FC Sudtirol before being helped from the field. And assistant boss Hans-Dieter Flick confirmed the Stuttgart man has now been ruled out of the finals in South Africa after being ordered to rest the joint for four weeks.

He said: "Christian Trasch will not be available for us at the World Cup. It's disappointing news as Christian would have been in our final squad.''

Germany boss Joachim Low has to trim his party to 23 by June 1 with central midfield the biggest area of concern as captain Michael Ballack and Bayer Leverkusen's Simon Rolfes have already been ruled out.

did you see that second goal? world class.

blue660r01 05-26-2010 05:57 PM

You could consider a lot of players goals "world class" though

but do they score those kinds of goals on a regular basis? RvP does, yeah, Messi is great with the ball at his feet, but how many volleys from 25+ yards has he scored? Kid has a left foot that gives Steven Seagal nightmares.

when you have a captain stuck in between london and barcelona, and just barely beat the sp*rs to third place in the EPL, we take our victories wherever we can get them.

to arsenal he is a ******* god. look at the difference in the team when he played versus when he was injured. i'm not saying he's cesc, but he's got the innate ability to turn something out of almost nothing. his greatest knock is that he can't manufacturing even 25% of his capability on his right foot, it's weak as hell.

i just got my rvp jersey in too :tup:

and for team usa: altidore up from with gomez, buddle in reserve, dempsey CAM and donovan next to him = win

You're forgetting that coaches golden child will always start in the middle, makes me sick. Dempsey will be stranded on a wing somewhere unfortunately. I wish the US would grow some balls and change their attack formation and run a 4-3-3 with Dempsey as the striker or on the left. Donovan running the middle with some speed on the sides (Torres, DMB), this would be a nasty nasty combination for the US, especially with teams that use more brawn than technique.

Well look at Bayern. Yeah they have improved greatly with Robben and yes he has scored some insane goals to bring them to the CL final. But I dont know....I just see it more as a team effort. Yeah Robben has be absolutely dirty this season for Bayern but how good would they be without TEAM WORK?

The thing is its not just RVP who is Arsenal. Things build up from defense/midfield to bring it to the attackers. For example, how would Bayern be without Schweinsteiger who matured into arguably one of the best midfielders in the world currently?

Ever since I've played sports as a kid I've had "there is no I in team" drilled into my head...and I still stand by that today.

I am seeing the Golden boot between Klose and Milito

Red370 05-26-2010 07:08 PM

RvP and Drogba, David Villa has a shot as well, Milito is good, but doesnt have a left foot.

Idk...I dont see RVP because the Netherlands have too many attacking options
Drogba no because they will not make it far enough
Villa...I considered...but then again Spain have too many options. Especially if Torres will be healthy by the WC. If not...then yes he is a high possibility.

Reasons I picked Milito and Klose:

Klose is a balanced attacker. He has a sense of where to be at the right times. Not only that, but he is insane when it comes to headers. In 2002, all of his goals were headers. Podolski is good when he throws on a Germany jersey but I see him feeding Klose mostly.

Milito....I dont even need to mention it haha. He is just too good.

blue660r01 05-26-2010 07:16 PM

Hey Red...Your opinion..Do you think Klose will tie/pass Ronaldo for all time goals?

15 goals

* Brazil Ronaldo

14 goals

* Germany Gerd Müller

13 goals

* France Just Fontaine

12 goals

* Brazil Pelé

11 goals

* Germany Jürgen Klinsmann
* Hungary Sándor Kocsis

10 goals

* Argentina Gabriel Batistuta
* Peru Teófilo Cubillas
* Germany Miroslav Klose
* Poland Grzegorz Lato
* England Gary Lineker
* Germany Helmut Rahn
