True but a dominant team or driver is nothing new in F1. Recent history Vettel, Schumi etc. Im happy we have F1 no matter. The interest to me is who will have update packages that work. I have zero worries about Mercedes still being the #1 team.

surprise..??

they've won all the races so far 2014.

I am surprised by their form in 2014, but not surprise if they will dominant another grand prix.

TreeSemdyZee 05-09-2014 03:54 PM

Why does everyone want a winner, but rail against the same once they become one?
I'm amazed by the Mercedes success even though I'm a fan of another team.
It is not their job to lose, but other's job to beat them.
More power to you Nico and Lewis.

+1 - Like Mark Webber said during the Schumi era - Dont like Michael winning all the time? DRIVE FASTER!

I think unless they all drive the same car, otherwise this "hatred" thing will pop up all the time.

Epic fail. Too bad his Venezuelan oil funding keeps him racing. Without that funding Lotus would be worse off!

the 3rd corner is actually a right hander bend, the car was slowly pushing out to the left and he had plenty of time to lift the throttle or make correction.

don't know why he would let himself push the car understeer til it went off and lost control. :ugh2::ugh2:

Especially after all of the problems they had in practice.

shadoquad 05-11-2014 02:50 PM

Much as I respect Mercedes for making a car that is... just... ridiculously faster than the field, it is less exciting to tune in when you know who will finish 1-2 every race. But this isn't new in f1

Pintsize725 05-11-2014 07:17 PM

I was so hoping Nico could overtake Lewis during the last few laps. Poor Britney.

Daniel Ricciardo just makes me want to root for him in every race. He's always so happy looking lol.

Shame that the Ferrari team couldn't get near the front today. Good on Vettel for making up all those positions. I've got to say, to see him struggling this season is making me like him just a tad.

I think Vettel just shut all those mouths who've said he couldn't pass. good job.

Feel bad for Ferrari too, 2nd season they don't have a good car/chassis to start with thus update doesn't help much.. same as McLaren.... :(

what's wrong with this season?? besides the sound??

new winner, good mix and battle in midfield, even the mercedes pair are dominating the season so far, at least they race against each other wheels to wheels..

remember last couple season when you see vettel was at front by himself after 2 laps??

it is much better this season...

what else do you need?

Haboob 05-13-2014 02:41 PM

Is it though? There wasn't much racing. Mercedes ran away with the race.

Sure, Hamilton and Rosberg raced each other, but inner-team racing isn't near as fun as team on team.

Vettel's charge from 15th was impressive though.

Also, how the hell did the Mercedes team surpass McLaren-Mercedes? That I don't understand.

Nor the fact that McLaren is moving to Honda next season?

yes, but isn't it still better than seeing just one of them lapping the field alone??

do you know paddy lowe is from mclaren?? also, toto wolff already said prior to the start of the season that mercedes is going to give full support to mercedes but partial support to mclaren because mclaren is switching to honda next season

Not really. I'd rather see two completely different manufacturers battle it out. Seeing a team go 1-2 (even when I was supporting Schumacher and Ferrari) was kind of boring and always raised the idea of team orders, the second driver slowing down a charging third place opponent, etc.

Back when it was Schumacher v. Hakkinen... man, that was fun.

As for the second part, no. I haven't stayed in touch with F1 in quite some time. I watched the first season that Red Bull dominated out of no where, then I stopped watching after that.

I guess it's been what, six or seven years now since that happened? :icon17:

Schumacher v. Hakkinen, :yum:

too bad it only lasted for 3 seasons, first season they were more like head to head, very exciting..

2nd season Schumacher broke his legs in Silverstone, and Irvine was not quite up to par.

3rd season... I consider that one Schumacher didn't win the title himself but because of ross brawn(race strategist at that time) and luck (a short rain after hakkinen's pit stop thus the position switch thus the title went to schumacher)

yup, I missed those seasons too, do you remember the pass from hakkinen @ Spa?? :yum::yum:

I was just a youngin'. I don't remember race specifics (outside of Schumi breaking his leg), but I just remember they were fun to watch.

I even have a poster of Hakkinen and the McLaren-Mercedes in my room (and I was a Ferrari fan!). :icon17:

I was a mclaren fan since my childhood, those lauda/prost era...

til whitmarsh took over the role cos that guy seems has no idea on how to run a team... :wtf2:

and f1 kinda turns into more obvious a money game...

but, on the other hand, nothing comes easy.. look at red bull, they started as one of the new and yongest team, took them many years to finally have newey and the funding from red bull.

also mercedes, took them 4 years to finally have a winning car...

give them some credits :icon17::icon17:

And it didn't work. Something definitely needs to be done about the sound, otherwise they're going to lose fans.

Monaco this weekend! Massa has his take on the race this weekend.

Felipe Massa: Monaco Grand Prix even tougher with 2014 F1 cars - F1 news - AUTOSPORT.com

Torque will be fun here! Or take you out if you are heavy on the throttle. Weather looks pretty good. Should be a fun race. Nico loves this track. Maybe he can get the best of Lewis!

I really want to go to the Monaco GP.

Maybe in a couple of years I'll get one of those Monaco GP Packages... we'll see. Expensive, but probably worth it.

You dont need a package. There are a few ways to do this event.
1. Stay in Nice and take the helo over or the train.
2. Rent an apartment online instead (VRBO) and hang out near the track. Buy tickets early online or just watch from where you are with a TV tuned to the race.
The real fun is the evenings around the casino. Its a big party just people hanging out. GO for it!

Well, that's what the package includes, transfer from Nice. Rooftop, fully catered over looking certain parts of the track (diff. options here), nightlife, etc.

There's one where you get a fully catered yacht too and watch there.

Probably could save quite a bit though without the catered parties, but then that's part of the fun of Europe and Monaco too. ;)
