KIMI shouldn't have yielded on principle. It was a desperation move by Perez.

Now, for self preservation, Kimi should have yielded. :icon17:

gomer_110 05-28-2013 12:28 PM

In the grand scheme of things it was nothing more than a big game of chicken. Both were hoping the other would yield out of fear for crashing out.

m4a1mustang 05-28-2013 12:35 PM

Kudos to Perez for trying, though. You really have to put your *** on the line if you want to pass at Monaco.

Sunny at 23C by race time. Should be a race where speed can be used. Tire management as well. Vettel sitting in the power seat. He has Bottas to help keep LH busy early on.

shadoquad 06-08-2013 01:28 PM

Good on that young Williams driver!

If he can just stick to Vettels rear wing and keep LH at bay this could be mighty interesting early on.....

Brilliant drive from Bottas, hopefully he can keep his cool during the race without making any mistake.

Sounds like it's going to be a wet day in Montreal today - will still make for an interesting race.........I hope!

m4a1mustang 06-09-2013 08:14 AM

Can't wait to watch. I get TNT on my Fios app so I should be able to keep the Cup race on the iPad and F1 on the TV. w00t.

Hourly Weather Forecast for Montreal - weather.com

Should be dry by 11 or 12. Dry race if this holds. I like it! Lets see who has really improved in a dry race. No mixed conditions. I expect Red Bull, Ferrari and Lotus to be strong.

Mercedes quick but doing a slight moonwalk back down the grid with the tire wear. Nico was being warned about his rear tire temps Friday.

Sscottfitz 06-09-2013 09:00 AM

Maybe Mercedes will use this as "proof" that they had no advantage/benefit with the tyre test.......:icon17:

Maybe it will help. That using the current car and current driver part of the rule will be tough at the Tribunal :)

Sscottfitz 06-09-2013 01:02 PM

I suspect you are correct - it will be interesting to see both the findings & the penalty......

Oh, time to race!

No surprise - Seb leads the field by over 2 secs 2 laps into the race......amazing.....

faya 06-09-2013 07:34 PM

that was a good race!!

gomer_110 06-09-2013 08:05 PM

after watching the race I'm curious if Red Bull figured out how to make the tires work finally or if this was just a fluke.

Caustic 06-09-2013 10:28 PM

Nerf Red Bull.

Freak accident. Still terrible note on a good race weekend. Very sad.

DLo 06-10-2013 11:05 PM

Wow, I wasn't even aware that a track worker was involved in such a horrible incident while watching the event. This is a bummer for sure.

As for the race, it was good, but I'm waiting for some red bull bad luck. I hope the championship comes down to the last lap of the season!

Zoren 370 06-11-2013 02:23 AM

Who among you guys over here in this thread be at Austin Texas F1 race live?

chrisbeltre 06-23-2013 02:57 PM

I will not be at that one but I will be at the German Grand Prix. Hitting the ring Saturday with the boys and watching the race from grand stand T-9 on Sunday.

I'm going to try and make it this year. Had tickets for last year but got stuck in Taiwan (at least the company gave me the $800 back) I framed them!

Planning on Singapore and Abu Dhabi.

Nismo89 06-27-2013 10:29 AM

Mark Webber to leave Formula 1 at the end of 2013 season.

" The 36-year-old Australian is joining German company Porsche's new sportscar programme, which includes an assault on the classic Le Mans 24 Hours.

Webber had options to stay in F1, either with Red Bull or another top team, but feels it is time to move on in his career.

Lotus's Kimi Raikkonen is favourite to replace him, with Toro Rosso's Daniel Ricciardo or Jean-Eric Vergne options.

Webber described it as an "honour" to race for Porsche, adding:
"Porsche has written racing history as a manufacturer and stands for outstanding performance and technology at the highest level.

"I'm very much looking forward to this new challenge after my time in Formula 1. I can hardly wait to pilot one of the fastest sports cars in the world."

In 12 years in F1, Webber has won nine grands prix, achieved 36 podium finishes, 11 pole positions and 15 fastest laps and twice finished third in the World Championship."

per F1 lobby on facebook.

DLSTR 06-28-2013 12:44 PM

Red Bull saying now its between the 2 Toro Rosso drivers and Kimi. Im betting Kimi wears Red Bull colors next year.

m4a1mustang 06-28-2013 12:46 PM

Kimi vs. Vettel in "identical" equipment would be interesting to see.

Waiz 06-28-2013 12:47 PM

Good for Webber, we all know the crybaby Vettel is their favorite and he will enjoy his time at Porsche

If Kimi joins RB I can imagine there are going to be some feuds with him and Vettel, he not as nice as Mark is and won't take the same BS

m4a1mustang 06-28-2013 12:55 PM

The difference being that Kimi and Seb are good friends off track.

:hello: morning!!
Question: do they ever change positions on the track? I haven't watched much-so sorry-but it looks like moving up after initial start, would be almost impossible.
