Anyone else excited for the first race this weekend?
Top Gear UK had Kimi as the f1 guest for their season finale on Sunday and he was as Kimi as ever in the interview.... I hope it's going to be a great season |

Yep... ready and waiting! Lets do this!
|
Just set my dvr for practice, qualifying, and the race. I can't guarantee I'm gonna be home at 1230 on a Saturday night...
|
^^ I did the same thing. My wife and I will watch first thing in the morning.
We also just got out F1 pool picks in. Got my fingers crossed. lol |
Im finally getting to sit down and watch practice and qualifying....
the cars and their dropped noses look kinda cool from a head on view. its just that side view it looks dumb HRT looks like they are going to fail again..... |
Almost time... we'll see if this one is gonna be a snoozefest or not!
|
The starting grid is quite a mix-up compare to usual except for McLaren.
|
Im hoping Mercedes is fast in the race. Im quite happy with the Red Bulls and Ferraris further down the grid. We need some tighter competition this season.
|
Woohoo nearly time!
|
Lotus is a welcome surprise, Kimi for not making out of Q1 and Romain for lining up right behind Hamilton on the grid.
|
Romain really surprised me. But we'll see if the Lotus actually has the staying power to maintain that position at the start...
|
Alonso and Massa better cut the crap. We need Schumacher back in Ferrari. He's not a Mercedes driver! :)
|
Ferrari kicked him out. They can **** themselves.
|
Romain dropping like a rock, go figure!
|
I would say the race is over right now, Button will run away with it, but Vettel looks very fast and there's a lot of time left.
Nice move Maldonado... Romain is out. I love how there are like 10 really good drivers in F1 and the rest are crap that pay for their rides. |
I guess Vettel wasn't that fast after all. :icon17: Should be Button's race to lose now.
|
Damnit Schumi went off the road... damage. Not sure if the damage caused the off or if the off caused the damage.
Edit: yep, transmission failure on corner entry caused the off. |
Safety Car out to make things interesting again.
|
I feel so bad for Maldonado. What a great drive, only to have it end like it did.
Good race, though. Good for Button. |
Red Bull always have some answers to the situation. Vettel's move on Rosberg in the 1st(or 2nd?) lap was amazing.
Too bad for Mercedes, race pace wasn't as fast as expected and gear-box/hydraulic failure cost the race of Schumacher... Huge surprised from Alonso, started from 12th and finished at 5th. And yes, sorry for Maldonado.... Malaysia has higher temperature than Australia, and two long straights, I bet the differences will be shown more obvious. |
I finally got to watch the race last night. I know I have to stay away from certain websites so I don't see the race results before I watch now I'm adding this thread to that list.
Nothing was ruined though My boy Jenson lookin good. McLaren will be the team to beat. I hope it's close though. Q3 was great. I really like the knockout qualifying format. It makes it fun to watch...too bad Kimi didn't make it out of Q1. But that's whats going to happen. Alot of cars are very close in qualifying but McLaren just has a faster race pace as well as the red bulls were better in the race than in qualifying. Looks like Mercedes is lacking here a bit. Schumi and rosberg looked good in qualifying but not so much in the race Pretty good race to start the season but next week on a real race course should be even better! 2 weeks 2 races. I love F1 being back on!!! |
I certainly hope for more competition. I honestly hate it when the races are decided on the first lap, which is usually how they go. Had Hamilton not mucked up his start he would likely have been able to set the race pace.
It is good to see McLaren with quick pace right now. Hoping Mercedes picks it up and Red Bull does not pull out to a dominant pace like they usually do. I really want to see Schumi back on the podium. |
I have a feeling this weekend is going to be wrapped up by McLaren and Red Bull.
McLaren is looking very strong in practice, even though we never know the fuel load and what are the teams actually testing on during practice, but McLaren and Red Bull are the only two could bring out something when necessary. Ferrari might be right behind and then it will be a good mix of Mercedes, Lotus, Williams and STR. I really want to see Mercedes can show something but it is hard to be convinced they can get to a podium... mm, Q starts in 2 hrs... |
Schumacher in P3 ...
|
I want the Iceman to make his amazing comeback already!

I am hoping Mercedes will have a good race-pace so they can keep up with McLaren and Red Bull. Red Bull always pull out something during the race, so I think it will be exciting.
And Kimi, he started at 17th last week and finished 7th, high hope for him. |
Hoping for better luck for Grosjean and Maldonado this week.
|
Rain! Going to be an interesting start.
|
Grosjean is a little shitstain.
|
SC out for rain. They expect the heavy rain to continue for up to 30 minutes.
Ah. Race just red flagged. Gonna wait the rain out and restart. |
Yup... patiently waiting... If anyone wants to live stream, go here...
Sky F1 Live Stream Online Enjoy! (Hopefully, the race resumes shortly.) |
Looks like its clearing up.
|
At least the rain got lighter.
|
It does look like they're going to resume very soon. Crossing fingers...
