No bandwagon here buddy. Die hard Boston fan but gotta give respect when it's due

nmjaxx9 01-15-2012 10:47 PM

For the Lakers fans I wouldnt sweat the Clippers loss though, you guys have more to worry about with Oklahoma, they are leading your conference right now. And also San Antonio, if they beat the Heat on Tuesday they can be a real issue for you guys. Seeing what they just did to the suns tonight, it doesnt look all too promising for the Heat, the Heat better step their game up big time!!!!

Rooster89 01-15-2012 11:22 PM

This season is going to be ugly because of the schedule. I think it plays to san antonio and chicago's advantages though.

i need to slow down. took too many tries to spell advantages. lol BEER!

nmjaxx9 01-15-2012 11:33 PM

Yeah there are like no breaks in between games, the Heat looked like they hadn't showered or slept in like a week in their game against the Clippers. :icon17:

This condensed schedule is screwing up the players!!

I honestly am not worried at all about the regular season.

The Lakers will for sure make it through and get to the playoffs where they will turn it on and make a real run back at the title!

Rooster89 01-15-2012 11:54 PM

Imagine the lakers and bulls for the finals. old vs new.

nmjaxx9 01-15-2012 11:57 PM

Yeah you guys definetley look more promising then when you started the season thats for sure, and if Kobe keeps having his 40pt games, you guys should be able clench the Western Conference, but then again relying on one man to carry a team is kinda of unreliable. :icon17:

I actually watched the whole Lakers game this time, and I have to say, I must have watched the most boring game....wait for it....until the 3rd quarter.

Kobe 0 for what was it like 6 in the first quarter?? Like what happened?

But then that lay in got him going, after that he was red hot. McRoberts is a another player I really like, he needs to get more time on the floor. They need to create more offensive opportunities for him, like the alley he got, followed by the reverse jam. I also think that the inexperience of their rookie point guard Morris also affected their offensive capabilities.

Fisher, I was surprised he turned it on in the last quarter as well, and of course that game winning 3 gave them a win. I see a lot more drive in Bynum, he definetley created more problems for the Mavs offense in the lane, and the hes actually one of the few big men that can actually shoot free throws.

All in all the game itself was very slow offensively, you would think that with Kobe not putting up high numbers like his previous games in the first half, and Fisher and Morris not contributing offensively, that they would be loosing, but no....they are playing the Mavs. :shakes head:

Yes, kudos to the Lakers for the win, but the Mavs were terrible. Jet Terry was no where to be found till late in the 4th quarter. The possesions always ended in throwing Nowitizki the ball (which most of the time was from Kidd), and there were so many air balls I thought I was watching a high school basketball team play.

Not a good way to represent themselves as the defending World Champs, if someone who didn't know about basketball saw how the Mavs played last night (and for the most part have been playing) they would not believe they were the NBA final champs last season. Just poor basketball on their part.

And I will end my little anaylsis by saying I cannot wait for next Thursday. :stirthepot:

KingZee 01-17-2012 12:39 AM

old man Fisher comes through...Love it, reminded me of the good old days

Is it just me or did Kobe and Lamar have an awkward moment right before Fish hit that 3?

nmjaxx9 01-17-2012 12:40 AM

I think he was telling Lamar "watch this next play" or something like that.

Yeah it was a slow game but it was because of a ridiculous defensive effort from both teams, this is how basketball is supposed to be played, not the offensive throw the ball across the court and hope for a dunk. Yeah that stuff is fun to watch but the defense stuff wins championships.

:roflpuke2: I feel pretty bad for Lamar, he looked suicidal after Fish hit that shot.

nmjaxx9 01-17-2012 12:50 AM

Yeah but Kobe and Lamar are buddies, they probably poked fun at it after the game. And I would be surprised if Lamar didn't feel dissapointed after the 3. Im sure he still has a lot of love for his previous teammates, but as a Maverick, he felt the the game slip from them at that moment.

And what I meant mostly by the offense was slow is that there were was a lot of hasty passing, air balls, and clumsy shots. On both sides, but the Mavs definetley were playing bad basketball as I previously stated. Rick Carlisle needs to implement a new offensive strategy if the Mavs are gonna have any kind of chance in the Western Conference. As the raining champs I def expected better....and they dissapointed me a lot this game.

Waiz 01-17-2012 12:57 AM

Just finished watching the game and screamed when Dfish hit that threeeeeeeee

nmjaxx9 01-17-2012 12:59 AM

this is exactly what good defense does to a game though

obviously

KingZee 01-17-2012 01:14 AM

just saying both teams, especially the Lakers were playing good D, so it's not that the Mavs played bad, the Lakers were just up their *** on D and they couldn't handle it

nmjaxx9 01-17-2012 01:17 AM

Yeah good d yes, but when you have no offensive pressure the game gets boring, im not expecting a lob pass alley oop dunk every posession, but when I start seeing air balls and continuous missed shots I tend to feel deprived of my time. The Lakers posession of the ball offensively was still greater than the Mavs, because the Mavs simply could not score.

KingZee 01-17-2012 01:20 AM

yeah...Lakers just had their young guys on the floor and it caught the old Mavs a little off guard I think

nmjaxx9 01-17-2012 01:22 AM

This is why I cannot wait to see the Lakers play the Heat, as the Heat play immensly fast offensively, they are really gonna spread the Lakers D up. Should be an interesting game to say the least.
