I don't see why you ice the iterim belt. It is supposed to keep the weight class active with title fights. Then when the champ is healed he comes in and fights to unify the two belts. Condit requested to wait for GSP and so far they have accepted his wishes.

Thats why I hate GSP and Frankie Edgar. They win on points and never threaten to finish not even a glimpse. Instead in Edgar's case he is always threatened to be put away but has an iron chin or something and somehow out points the other fighter to win the decision or draw for the 100th time and beg for a rematch.

I'd rather see Kampmann vs Hendricks while we're waiting for Condit vs GSP. The fact is that GSP is one of the UFC's biggest stars and they desperately need him back ASAP. They probably don't want anything getting in the way of that fight because of the way everyone's been getting injured lately.

I think GSP is boring as effffff to watch. Love that he is Canadian though.

Dos Sontos is a cool guy. Don't think he'll have the belt for tooo long but I think he's a stand up guy

His damn Canadian politeness keeps him from being able to finish fights :bowrofl:

I can see Dos Santos holding the belt for a while, especially if he gets past Velasquez in their rematch.

True, I see where they would want to keep a fight lined up for him. But I think they have enough time to fight Condit vs #1 contender and winner waits on GSP. Nothing says GSP comes back November but is injured in camp and fight pushed to Spring. Then Condit will be sitting for a year. That would backfire on him. Passing up pay days to wait that long. But there are other good fights to watch til then.

Who do you see Dos Santos losing too? Overeem has a shot with his roided up self. But Dos Santos has the best hands at Heavyweight. Velasquez if he would of done what he should of and had a game plan like Sonnen did vs Silva and put him on his back he would have a chance long as he doesnt get submitted.

The heavy belt seems to move around a lot. It's a slut

I do, especially when he gets off those steroids.

That's why I was saying they should have Hendricks vs Kampmann soon. If GSP gets injured then they can have Condit fight the winner of that fight at the end of the year or beginning of next year. Then GSP can come back next spring.

So was the LHW belt......till it found Jon Jones.

Sibze 07-12-2012 03:39 PM

Silva vs. Jones
Silva vs. GSP

Who wins???? I personally think Silva wins both. IF IF IF IF GSP could get him on the ground MAYBE he could get lucky and submit him but GSP is all about outlasting people and scoring points. Silva won't let you do that...

Jones I think would be a more interesting fight but Jones' strength is standing and that's Silva's game. As long as Silva could overcome the reach I don't think Silva would have a hard time beating Jones. HOWEVER, IF Jones was able to get Silva down and use those INSANE elbows it could get interesting…

MC 07-12-2012 03:53 PM

silva wins both GSP would have to take him down to have a chance standing up it would get ugly... with jones i bet jones would engage him and nd even machida showed he can be hit when pressured in situations like that ....so i think silva would wait for a mistake with one of jones flashy strikes and go in for the kill. i think he is unbeatable unless he fought an elite heavyweight and even then who knows... best tactic is seems is to smother him you give him any space and let him get in that fluid guard down stance and its over

but if you watched the press conference last week he said he wouldnt fight jones .

and GSP doesnt seem real motivated to fight him either sadly

Ya, he said he wouldn't but White isn't ruling out Jones. I don't think GSP vs Silva will ever be done.

Jones has to get through Dan in his next fight as well. Which I think will be a good fight

MC 07-12-2012 04:04 PM

i think dan vs jones will be a good fight for 1-2 rounds.... he needs to say **** it and come out like he did against fedor.... he is lethal early but look at the sheilds and shogun fights.. when he cant take the guy out he seems to run out of steam. and against jones that could go bad for him real fast if he tries to lay back and have a gameplan... it will look a lot like the rampage fight where jones just started to pick him a part.....so i say come out hard in the first round and see what happens with the H bomb he really has nothing to loose at this point in his career

On paper, Jones has everything on Hendo.

But what Hendo has is that mean goodnight punch. If he lands that sucker, it doesn't matter who he's up against.

If he connects and it clicks like Bisping... We could have a new champ.

But first he's got to connect.

b1adesofcha0s 07-12-2012 04:25 PM

Yeah I think Silva would beat both Jones and GSP. If Jones can get Silva on the ground and keep him there, he could finish the fight with those nasty elbows. I think Silva vs GSP will happen next year and is much more likely to happen than Silva vs Jones.

If Hendo doesn't land that H bomb in the 1st 2 rounds, then Jones will finish the fight in the later rounds.
