I think Silva will be taking Sonnen much more seriously this time. Hopefully without the rib injury he'll do much better. He said he was trying to prove a point in his last fight and wanted to submit Sonnen, which he did. Now he said he's going kill Sonnen so I'm expecting and hoping for a good beat down.

SPOHN 07-03-2012 09:32 AM

I love how Sonnen took it to him last time. But Sonnen is sloppy when it comes to stand up game. Which is dangerous for him.

What do you guys think of Forest/ Titto fight. I'm taking Forest. He can take a whoopn and still come out on top.

speedfreek 07-03-2012 09:34 AM

See Sonnen is in his head which is what he wanted. Does it backfire and Silva fights better when he is mad or does it make Silva make a mistake? If he doesn't knock Sonnen's head off in the first round I look for a long grueling fight. I just hope he doesn't get submitted again after winning every round. I was yelling at him to get the hell away from him in the 5th. But Sonnen is a fighter unlike some of the other little bishes *cough* Condit *cough*. So he wouldn't run away from him just to secure a victory. He won the fight and Silva had to knock him out or submit him in the final round. So I dont think he was trying to prove a point other than he had to in order to win. If you remember Silva is the one who got caught at the opening bell and could of easily been TKO'd. Sonnen was never threatened at least from what I recall from the fight until being submitted.

Either way it should make for an entertaining fight. As long as it is exciting I am good.

Sonnen may not have the boxing skills that Silva has, but it was Sonnen who clipped Silva early in the last fight. I agree that it will likely not happen again so Sonnen better shoot for the take down earlier. Dont want to get caught out like Velasquez did against JDS.

I absolutely hate Tito. I love how they prop him up as one of the ambassadors to the sport. Yea I know he did some good for it. But I can't get past how long he ducked Chuck and continued to talk ****. That and he always has the same lame excuses when he loses. Oh I got injured in training, oh I have a hurt back, etc. And he always says the same thing going into the fight... This was my best camp ever! How so if you came in injured. Think dummy the stories dont match.

I hope Forrest knocks his *** out!

Umm Sonnen tapped out so he did not win the fight in any way. Was he winning the fight up until that point on the judge's scorecard? He definitely was, but saying he won the fight is completely wrong. I may be a bit of an Anderson Silva fan boy, but when you finish a fight there is no question as to who won regardless of how the rest of the fight went.

Silva did get caught at the beginning of the last fight, but that can happen to any fighter at any time. Silva may have underestimated Sonnen in their last fight, but I'm damn sure he won't do it again this time around. I saw the documentary "Like Water" the other day and they showed highlights from the first fight. Silva was doing pretty good with his striking until the point where he got taken down in each round. I'm probably gonna watch the full fight again before this Saturday.

For the Forrest vs Tito fight it depends which one shows up for each fighter. Which ever one is at the top of their game is going to take the decision. If they are both at their best then I might give Forrest the decision because Tito's getting old now.

Yes he didn't ultimately end up winning so you can attack that statement on those merits. Given you are a Silva Fanboy I understand. I know he didn't win the fight, I watched it I saw him tap. Bottom line is I want Silva to lose. Same way I want GSP to lose. The title reign must end.

I knew what you meant though. He was getting his azz kicked for those 4.5 rounds, but I'm so glad he got the submission at the end. I think Silva will end up retiring as champion depending on when he decides to do so. I wouldn't mind seeing GSP lose though. :p

It's been awhile since Forrest has fought. But Tito is a joke. Plus all those neck surgeries he had is going to catch up to him soon.

^ yea that would of pissed me off. If Silvia makes these to personal his train of thought is going to be bad.

b1adesofcha0s 07-07-2012 02:07 PM

Yeah I think it was a bad move as well. I'm still excited for the fight though, watching it with a couple other forum members. Should be fun

SPOHN 07-07-2012 10:07 PM
