Cool, thanks guys. I'm pretty pumped to watch some F1 this year, never really followed it before.
|
i usually DVR all the races on speed, but with half of the races going over the scheduled time i never get to see a finish! :(

I can't DVR any sporting event. I have to watch it live.
The best Sundays are ones that start with F1 at 7 in the morning and finish off with the Sprint Cup race. A full day of racing. :yum: And I'll get up at (or stay up 'til) 2am for some of the odd hour races if I have to. If for some reason I can't I'll just check the results as soon as I wake up. I simply can't watch any sporting event on a tape delay! |

Great feature for the races that run over. |
alright first couple of sessions are over for practice for Australia. And the McLaren boys are on top. I love Button, he is such a calm driver but he has fun with whatever car he is driving.
Pretty pumped to see Schumacher back up near the top of the board thanks for everyones help on teaching me how to get the BBC feeds. looking forward to trying it this weekend. Anyone want to give any predictions mine Button, Vettel, Hamilton |
Can't wait to see how the tires turn out for the race.
|
I'll hold off on predictions until qualifying. :) I haven't seen any of the practice sessions yet but I did read that some folks think McLaren were running light fuel...
|
they havent mentioned them on the f1 website but i suspect the teams arent running very many flying laps at once qualifying will show some but the race on sunday will be it.
The wheels will be color coded as well so you can tell which of the 6 they are |

Anyone know where I can watch a live stream online?
|
You can usually catch some streams on Justin.tv - Streaming live video broadcasts for everyone
|
Cool, thanks! If anyone sees any specific broadcasts, please post! The search function on there seems like a mess.
|
Yeah it is. You just have to try a bunch of query terms before you find it.
|
In case anyone is interested, I'm keeping an eye on this one:
EDIT: Here you go - high quality. http://www.flashstreamsfree.net/p/channel-1.html |
Whoa! I just finished watching qualifying and Vettel is just insane! I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this kid is gonna dominate F1 like Schumacher did for the next few years. Almost a whole second faster than Hamilton in Q3!
|
Let the 2011 Season Begin!
Interesting Q session last night (errr....this morning.....) Looks like it's Sebastian and "everyone else"........
- Glad to see the McLaren's have gotten a little better from early test sessions - Vettel is apparently in a different area code.... - Will be interesting to see if the HRT guys will be allowed to race -- 107% rule -- think I heard they were something like ~17 MPH slower than Vettel -- can you say "rolling chicane"...... - As much as I like to watch the F1 races live and track Live Timing, this race will probably be a DVR viewing tomorrow morning (makes for a good warm up for the Fontana race)..... |
Vettel does look quick. He will be hard to match. It seems that the tires will play a big role here. I think after Q i feel safe with at least my trifecta of
Button, Vettel, Hamilton just maybe not in that order. Should be a good race. I tried getting some of the streams going to watch Qualifying but i gave up. Ill try a few other ideas tomorrow to watch the race instead of the speed. Either way I have the speed one DVRd |
Vettel is amazing. I think he sold his soul...lol
I like the new drivers that are up and coming. This should make for a good season. |
I'm glad I fell asleep at 1. :icon17:

I'd think anyone who doesn't want to stumble upon a spoiler needs to not look at a computer or their phone until they've watched the race. One time I was on my way home from somewhere, and the TV in the airport bar had ESPN on. I accidentally saw the race results on the ticker at the bottom of the screen before I could get home to my DVR. Spoilers are everywhere, dammit! |
Spoiler alert
Probably best to simply place a "spoiler alert" in the Title of the post so at least anyone could hopefully see that first (if they haven't seen the race) and not read the post.
THAT SAID -- as a F1 fan I thought the race today was pretty good -- I remember a few years ago, the first race of the year was always a crap shoot due to early year reliability issues......apparently not this year. Unless Seb has some reliability issues or "HIRD" (head in rectal defilade) issues, he will be the driver to beat this year -- heard post race that the RBR cars weren't even using the kerns device -- holy crap! Was glad to see Lewis Hamilton was at least the best of the rest. Interesting to see why the other RBR car being so far off from the other car -- gotta believe Webber will be talking to the car engineers...... |
Yeah I would recommend not looking at this thread if you haven't watched the race yet. :) That's what I do.
That race was a pretty damn impressive performance for RBR and McLaren and a pretty disappointing for some of the others. Just imagine how fast RBR will when they get KERS working! I think Webber just got beaten by strategy... |
Well, I think everyone will start to catch up a bit as always. The first few races of the season always seem to favor one team or another by a wide margin, then the others catch up and make a race out of it.

I got the torrent thing kinda working. So i could watch it later. Still learning the sites that were posted for watching live. I just dont feel like staying up all night to watch the race. More relaxing on sunday afternoon Either way it was a great race. The Massa/Button battle early was pretty good till Jenson ran off the track and was penalized. Massa was way slower though It seems that just having that DRS or whatever is not making passing very easy on the straights. Im sorry but i havent had the chance to read all the post race stuff. Was there ever reasons given by Webber or Vettel as to why they were not using KERS. Its not like Vettel needed it but just wondering if they ever said anything in post-race interviews..... |

Really disappointing that the Saubers were DQ'd. Made Di Resta look really good though.

Millions spent on R&D, engineering and building and purchasing the best racing equipment on the planet and we end up with zip lock bags for radio covers?

By the way guys, you can use the forums "spoiler" tags, just use this format, and remove the quotes... ["spoiler"]text["/spoiler"]

Boom Petrov catches air. its like Brundle knew what was going to happen before Petrov hit the air. But other than Vettel having another pretty easy race, the season has had some good racing. The way the Renaults took off. Alonso Hamilton battle. I think Button got into it with Massa again a bit. Im loving it so much Has anyone heard which straight they are going to use the DRS on this weekend. Will it be the back straight or the front?? The back straight is much longer and would make the DRS more effective at the end but would it make it too easy to pass. Thoughts? |
Spoiler alert
Now THAT was a great F1 race -- not sure what the record is for lead changes in a F1 race, but gotta believe today's race was right up there!
Great win by Lewis! Although I'm NOT a big RBR fan, was still very impressed with Webber's push to the final podium place. Looks like the season will come down to the McLaren's chasing the RBRs (and sometimes winning.....) I think today may have made the teams re-think their tire strategy for the rest of the year. |
