NBA Finals??

okay, so i'm from LA, naturally i'm a die hard Lakers fan.

i'm going to predict that they are going to in back to back NBA Finals. the question is, what about the East?

the team that scares me in the East is actually the Magic. they are the only time that beat LA twice.

molamann 03-13-2009 07:31 AM

I think Lakers pretty much secured the west and as for the east.... I guess "anything's possible" /roll.

Even Celtics who pretty much had a free ticket to the finals were taken to 7 by the Hawks but there are 3 big teams competing this season which are the Celtics, Magics, and Cavs.

!xoible 03-13-2009 09:14 AM

whoever wins the East WE, lakers, will kick their arse :D

jk

zman1910 03-13-2009 04:20 PM

This year it'll be Kobe vs. Lebron and I'm sure the NBA will get its highest ratings ever.

arcticreaver 03-13-2009 04:55 PM

wow if it's kobe v. lebron, that would be crazy.

good match up. if bynum is back it would be a very good series.

molamann 03-19-2009 02:16 PM

Only if Shaq-to-Cavs trade actually went through... it could've set a new championship finals rating.

Endgame 03-21-2009 07:18 PM

I pick Kobe vs Lebron... The Cavs are dismanteling just about everyone they play....

Anatoray 03-23-2009 02:15 PM

As long as I keep my roommate away from the TV, the Lakers are assured victory. For some reason the Lakers play like total chumps whenever he watches them, and they'll literally come back from the dead if he goes to the bathroom lol.

oh snaps, 9 sec left. CHI v BOS 97-96 CHI leads by one.

lets see if the bulls can steal one at the garden.

molamann 04-18-2009 03:04 PM

Derrick Rose, rookie of the year without a doubt.

+1. lets see if the bulls can upset the celtics. i personally think the bulls are under rated. no deng and still playing this hot? ballers.

also, rockets for the win. i want to see them out of the first round for once.

pistons look to be headed to the lottery next season if things don't improve. i still fail to see how trading chauncey for AI was a good move. mr. no-practice ain't even playin in the playoffs. FAIL on dumars part. otherwise the pistons will give cavs a run for the money.

TacoZ 04-19-2009 12:17 AM

Lakers vs. Cavs
Lakers in 6 games

Although I really wish Boston would make it back with Garnett. I want some revenge!

our revenge will be winning another 3 championships in a row.

and i can't believe mavs handed the spurs a home loss. if the mavs keep this up, they are going to be in the second round for sure. duncan is really getting old and manu is getting karma payback for all those infamous flops.

and houston just lit up the blazers. blazers should be re-named the blizzards at this point. no answer for yao ming = going fishing.

arcticreaver 04-19-2009 11:33 PM

can't believe philly stole one from the magics

alvinmathew88 04-21-2009 12:03 PM

go mavs.

CantZme 04-21-2009 04:24 PM

being from boston,, i would have to go with.... drum roll the cavs from the east. but believe it or not i have the rockets coming out of the west over l.a

i admit the rockets are playing well, but LA matches too good with them. lakers have an answer for everyone from Yao to Artest.

Well Rockets need an answer to Brand Roy first.

arcticreaver 04-22-2009 09:16 AM

damn! roy dropped 42 on the rockets. lets see how the blazers do on the road.

molamann 04-22-2009 11:30 PM

Orlando and Miami respectively took one at road as expected(by me at least.)

Anyways, sucks to see Dikembe go out with an injury.

Here's a video to remember him by :D

arcticreaver 04-23-2009 12:09 AM

man i can't believe he's done.

that video above is classic.

arcticreaver 04-23-2009 12:13 AM

denver in 4 games.

molamann 04-24-2009 06:35 AM

Even with Kobe shooting 5-24, Gasol missing his FT, and Bynum consistently being benched due to foul trouble(7 minutes of playtime with 5 fouls) and still losing by only 2 points? I'm gonna try and stay optimistic with the Lakers.

arcticreaver 04-28-2009 12:30 AM

utah jazz just went fishing.

TacoZ 04-28-2009 12:39 AM

What's up with the West? I don't see anyone matching up to the Lakers. Sure Lakers are bound to have a bad game where they can't shoot but it's almost like practice for the Finals or something.

arcticreaver 04-28-2009 12:52 AM

actually portland will match them up real well. but i think the rockets are getting out of the first round.

Yes I agree with Portland as they were very difficult for the Lakers while playing at home. But I said all of that assuming that the Rockets will take care of Portland.

It's beginning to look more and more like a Lakers/Cavs finals. I would enjoy that serious if just to see who steps up their game. Kobe or LeBron.

arcticreaver 04-29-2009 02:44 AM

rondo is a dirty player. print that in a book somewhere folks. refs were on celtics side.

TRU370Z 04-29-2009 05:56 AM

I think it will be Cavs vs. Lakers in the finals, and even though they never beat them during the regular season I think the Cavs will destroy the lakers. And IMO all Celtics' series will go 7 games and I actually think the bulls have a good chance to win their first series ever against the Celtics even with the heart breaking loss today.

I don't think Rondo is necessarily a dirty player, but it's just that he's surrounded by dirty players that tends to rub off on him. Not only that, their assistant coach Tom Thibodeau is notorious for coaching dirty tactics.

all i can say is celtics have been playing dirty ball for a while now. about 2 years and counting. they get away with some many things that it's not even funny.

from last night's game, bulls lost because the refs didn't call a flagrant foul. maybe blood wasn't enough to warrant the foul? after watching the replays, it's def a flagrant foul. going for the ball my ***.

to me, celtics look like punks out there. rondo is now reminding me of matt barnes, a true bondafide dirty player.

Huge +1. Gotta agree with you on this. Personally, I think the Cavs are a lot more dominant than they showed themselves to be in the regular season and I think Mike Brown is very smart for playing it this way.

zman1910 04-29-2009 02:11 PM

I can't stand the Celts for many reasons and being dirty is one of them. Another one is seeing KG and his emotional nonsense. He's a freakin psycho and I swear the only word he knows is motherfu----.....lol. It'll be amazing if these defending champs lose in the first round to Chicago.

arcticreaver 04-29-2009 02:29 PM

one thing about the cavs is that they do not have length. LO, Gasol, and Bynum will give them some problems. lebron is probably the only that can get past these guys. lakers bench is better because with the addition of shannon brown who can actually play on both ends of the floor, i don't know if the cavs can handle the lakers' bench. also, LO is on the bench. but the finals is a long ways ahead. lakers will have to get past portland or houston. personally, i think if lakers plays the blazers, it will be a HUGE upset. portland in 6, i'm a die hard lakers fan but i dunno, this young squad ALWAYS gives us huge problems.

I think we'll be okay in the end. We've got enough bigs now that we can get a fresh guy in on Gasol and Bynum every quarter. They aren't the most talented players but they all play their role fairly well.

In the end it will come down to who plays the hardest and who wants it the most. If you think we may not have the length than I think Mike Brown/Cavs did a good job selling it to you.

I do agree with you on Shannon Brown. He's turned out to be one heck of an addition. It can definitely make things harder for our bench.

I think HCA will play a key role in this series. The first two games are the most important in setting the momentum.

This will be a great series to watch.

personally, yes it will be a great series to watch.

but if the lakers can just contain mo williams, it will be another one man show for the cavs. the biggest addition for the cavs was mo williams and he can surely ball with the best of them. but with our big guards in brown and vujacic hopefull we can swarm him down.

arcticreaver 04-29-2009 10:44 PM

and howard from the magics gets suspended and nothing for rondo the green goblin? david stern and his posses are blind as a bat.
