If Rondo isn't suspended after that foul on Heinrich then I give up.. He's pulled 3 fouls in the last 2 games that he deserved to be suspended for and has yet to get more than a flagrant 1 for any of them.

BTW, Let's go Mavs.

that's what i'm talking about. dwright howard's elblow, suspended. d-wade hard foul in game 5? flagrant foul type 1.

what does rondo get? nothing. not even a fine. the NBA is truely rigged.

blue660r01 05-01-2009 05:57 PM

I hate the Celtics. All I care is that they lose. I hate the Lakers too but ehhhh I could kinda deal with them winning.

Oh well, go Cavs.

lol

arcticreaver 05-02-2009 10:15 PM

damnit, i guess the celtics are still the better team. better luck to the bulls next year.

zman1910 05-02-2009 10:35 PM

At least we can count on the Orlando/Boston series being interesting...

firm 05-03-2009 02:03 PM

The Orlando/Boston series should be great, but I wonder how the Celtics will go about things.

If they want to have a chance in hell against the Cavs they have to have KG back and playing at 100%, which means that they'll need him to play basically the entire series against Orlando. I think that the Celtics have a chance to upset the cavs, but not a great (or even good) one. If I were a betting man and it came down to Celtics/Cavs I'd put $1k on Cavs and $250 on celts.

In other news, Game 1 of the Mavs/Thugs series today. This is one series that really can't be predicted. I'd like to say that the Mavs will be able to handle the Nuggets given their depth, but the Nuggets have damn near the same amount of depth on their own team. I think the key matches will be good (Kidd/Billups, Howard/Melo, K Mart/Dirk) but at the same time I'm scared of the officiating. Officials have a tendency to be much more lax with Nuggets games because they foul so much if they actually called all of them the entire team would foul out in the first half. Combine that with the fact that K Mart has already done an interview where he basically said that he was going to foul Dirk every chance he gets and you have a series that could swing either way with a vengeance.

As far as Game 1 is concerned, both the Mavs and Nugs suck at day games so I guess we'll see which team has more heart today. It would be great for the Mavs to steal this one and pull home court advantage, but I'm definitely not holding my breath. I hope that Josh Howard has it in him to step up and play the stellar defense that he's played lately against Melo, because if someone doesn't put some pressure on Melo and get him missing shots then the Melo/Smith/Billups combo is going to explode.

Here's to game 1 of what could be a very interesting series.

Oh you've got to be kidding me.. They just threw Haslem out of the game and yet they let Rondo play through giving 2 people stitches and throwing one of them into the stands in the next game.

What the hell is going with the officiating this postseason?

david stern feels bad for rondo because he looks like the green goblin.

If David Stern truly is behind the massive decline in officiating in the NBA then he needs to be stoned and exiled.

Words cannot describe how pissed off I've been at the officiating lately. Usually I'm the guy that's telling people to get off of the officials backs because they do the best job that they can, they don't have the advantage of seeing replays after every play and seeing everything zoomed in from a great angle.. But there really is something going on when Haslem gets ejected for something that should've been a flagrant 1 at best, Rondo gets nothing more than a T for what should've earned a suspension from games 6 & 7, and K Mart doesn't get a flagrant for shoving Dirk down to the ground after the play had already stopped because he had already been called for a foul on Dirk (without Dirk instigating anything at all, mind you).

Hell, look at the way that Chris Paul was basically treated like a punching bag throughout the whole Denver/NO series.. No calls at all.

This is really starting to bother me. I love basketball, it keeps me sane through all of my ridiculous amounts of school work.. But I'm starting to understand why people stopped watching ball in the first place.

America is 100% corporate these days. NBA needs the ratings to make $$. which is why I do not doubt that some games are definitely rigged.

Lebron for MVP!......I'm pretty sure everyone saw that coming

yeah it was pretty obvious. though i wish kobe would get it again. hopefully kobe and get the nba finals mvp.

arcticreaver 05-04-2009 08:16 PM

i think the magics are going to run away and perhaps sweep the celtics.

kgreen 05-05-2009 12:44 AM

damn lakers need to stop playin around!!

lakers in 6 games. but yeah gasol needs to step it up.

zman1910 05-05-2009 01:54 AM

I don't know about your Lakers. Houston matches up incredibly well....too good if you ask me. They've got all your main scorers on lockdown. Yao can stop Gasol, Bynum, and Odom in the lane. Artest and Battier can make Kobe work very hard. And Fisher can't handle Brooks.

I've watched just about every Lakers game this season and to put it frankly, I just think Houston found a way to shut them down. Don't let that 4-0 in the reg season fool you.

arcticreaver 05-05-2009 03:06 AM

no the lakers need to play more triangle. but gasol needs to play like an all star. but the team needs to play some defense. trust me, if the lakers play D, they got a very good chance to winning the series.

arcticreaver 05-07-2009 12:12 AM

lakers v rockets game 2 is MMA style!!!! i'm really glad. last year lakers were called soft. now, it's a different story.

ct63084 05-07-2009 01:51 PM

I hope NBA don't suspend Kobe or Artest, but I do think that Fisher should get suspended. Other than that I missed this kinda games, missed the good old days back in the jordan era where the piston would literally pick up jordan and throw him in the ground it was so physical back then. Now they making a big hype how Lebron James is so good, he is good but if he was playing back before the league made hand checking illegal well let's just say he won't get the easy looks he gets now. Even the great MJ had to adapt his game and practiced on his jumpshot because he was getting pummeled everytime he gets in the basket. Now most of this so called superstars just drives in the hoop and wait for the referee to call the foul, you can't even talk trash anymore kobe got called for a Technical for telling Battier "you can't guard me" lol are you serious. Gary Payton said worser things than that and he never got called for a T. I think thats the reason why we lose in international game because european teams are tougher than our Dream Team.

molamann 05-07-2009 01:59 PM

^
Agreed.

Suspension for Fisher is a no-brainer but Kobe was just trying to box out against a player that is 6'7 and 260lbs.

arcticreaver 05-07-2009 03:55 PM

if the NBA suspends fisher, rondo should be banned from the playoffs.

Namir 05-07-2009 10:39 PM

The lakers rockets brawl is entertaining but I think its gonna be Cavs and Lakers in the final.

Go Cavs!

molamann 05-13-2009 12:21 AM

Lakers win 118-78.

Payback is a biatch~

phelan 05-13-2009 12:47 AM

Lakers made one hell of a statement in Game 5, but WHERE WAS THIS IN THE PREVIOUS GAME?!

I'm still bitter over Portland not making it...

arcticreaver 05-13-2009 01:10 AM

portland is young and will get over the hump sooner or later. if oden develops into a monster like dwight howard, blazers will be tougher to beat for the Lakers.

tufty 05-14-2009 09:17 PM

GO ROCKETS!!

Looks like domination here in the first quarter. So much left to play though....

FloridaMike 05-14-2009 09:59 PM

Magic push to Game 7... here's hoping we don't fall apart :)

arcticreaver 05-17-2009 06:18 PM

right on with the lake show. now it's the nuggets.

CantZme 05-17-2009 09:55 PM

Celtics fan disappointed lost money on celts and b's... me sad

arcticreaver 05-21-2009 03:39 PM

wow james is getting spasms??? wow. and i think jr smtih got hurt on the last play of the game. wonder what happens today.

howard is very lucky to have lewis. props to the magics for winning a game in cleveland and showing that the cavs are beatable.

phelan 05-21-2009 06:04 PM

hahaha, the cavs blew out too many opponents; with james playing the full 48 he cramps up XD

they're gonna be sooo angry in gm2.

arcticreaver 05-23-2009 10:32 PM

cavs got lucky with james hitting that 3. a win is a win but the game should have never been in that situation. again the cavs let go of a lead and needed the king to bail them out. they need to play either better offense or better defense in the fourth.

and i would like to state that Trevor Ariza is a COMPLETE STUD. another 4th quarter in-bound steal for my boy and he makes the nuggets pay with melo fouling out and also hitting the clutch free throws.

but it was kobe's show in the 4th quarter. he balled hard for the win and it is well deserved. nuggets need to start playing better defense. melo and k-mart fouled out. with them gone in the 4th, no height for the nuggets in the paint.

lakers lead 2-1

Namir 05-24-2009 12:08 AM

Go cavs!

That's all... I don't really know too much about basketball :\
I'm more of a hockey fan

shumby 05-24-2009 05:30 AM

GO hockey

molamann 05-24-2009 03:48 PM

Go high school lacrosse

Asheth 05-24-2009 04:10 PM

Lakers fan here! That was a good Win!! Tough win! I was suprised Luke gave a good spark to the Team. Andrew Bynum is hovering just above Kwame Brown level right now I am really disappointed with his play in the playoffs. He jumps at everything and gets into foul trouble and please somebody give that boy a Jumpshot!

arcticreaver 05-24-2009 11:12 PM

for andrew i think it's because this is his first playoff, and we have to count in the injury. he's not too comfy out there but for a good reason, dude missed like 30+ games again this season.

nuggets will respond hard in game 4 but the lake show needs to step up the intensity and just play some good o' fashion basketball. i'm taking some hard fouls in the paint. i'd rather make nuggets a jump shooting team because other than melo and mr. big shot, no one else is consistent with their shots from 15 feet.

offense boards are getting us killed. we got 3 7 footers, so we need to insert them well into the game and have them go at the boards hard.

the triangle will dictate the offense but lamar needs to bring 2 of his A games in this series and it's game, set, match. because other than gasol, bryant, and ariza, no one else is stable in terms of shooting.

sasha is cold, luke is a passer at heart, and fisher is an old shell of himself most times. shannon brown and farmar need to try and step up the game with their fast tempo.

or we can just let the mamba light nuggets up for 81 points.
