Lincicum is the two time reigning cy young. Matt Cain led the league in quality starts. Jonathan Sanchez pitched a no hitter last year and is emerging as on of the nastiest left handers in the league. West coast baseball gets no attention from the rest of the country. SF had one of the best if not the best rotations in baseball. They went 21 games with only giving up 2 runs something that hasnt happened since 1912. Followed by the deepest and strongest bullben in the NL. And then the most dominant closer in the NL Brian Wilson.
Wait till u east coast guys see what we have.:happydance:

FEAR THE BEARD!

What matters here on the playoffs is experienced and SF has barely none! ;)

I agree to an extent that experience factors into it. On paper, the Yanks are stacked, even going beyond last year.

But as they say, "that's why they play the game."

Anything can happen in seven games. The phillies are going to pitch halladay three times during the series and yea he has only pitched one playoff game before. Its easier being the underdog got nothing to prove. Should be a good one

Yeah I know, hey I'm hoping SF win anyway.

Yankees hands down

PapoZalsa 10-16-2010 10:57 AM

Experience in the playoffs will overcome many things!

What a GREAT 8th inning for the Yankees!

However, CC sucked but he will shake off the rust.

Yankees one in the bag.

But the LEGACY of some teams like the NY Yankees, Cincinnati Reds, LA Dodgers, Pittsburgh Pirates and others is in the MLB History books, it cannot be erase and it was not a FLUKE.

So having nothing to prove does not means anything! What it means is that they are not at the level of the other teams that have already proven thru the years that they can win championships. ;)

WOW! The so called "underdogs" won today...

antman22 10-19-2010 12:07 AM

Cliff Lee was a monster today. 13 strikeouts. Quite a performance. A serious 9th inning for the Rangers, I think they're still a little bitter about game 1, hehe.

Win or Lose, I will always be a Yankee fan.

They should know the the Yankees was #1 team in the AL coming from behind this season...and #1 coming from behind in the entire season after the 7th inining.

Now these 3 games are in the past, worry about the future a win the rest of the games.

antman22 10-20-2010 12:10 AM

Yankees had a few opportunities to rally back, didn't come through. Home Run Derby for the Rangers...I'm somehow gonna have to try and catch tomorrow's afternoon game at work lol.

What time starts? Because SF is playing too I believe.

antman22 10-20-2010 09:21 AM

SF plays tonight (7 or 8 central time)...the Rangers/Yankees play at 3pm central i believe.

PapoZalsa 10-20-2010 06:57 PM

YES, Yankee Win!!! :vuvuzela::vuvuzela:

See u in Texas. ;)

Bleek 10-20-2010 08:44 PM

As much as I want the yankees to repeat, they wont. Their bats are absolutely terrible in this ALCS

Rangers vs Phillies in the WS.

WRONG!!!! None of the series are over and the way SF is playing I doubt it. If the Phillies don't win tonight they are almost dead.

The Yankees pitching is SUCKING and has been more terrible then their bats. They did pretty good job today and got the bats out. Hopefully Hughes will have a good game Friday for a 7th game.

antman22 10-20-2010 11:10 PM

Rangers got rocked today and the Yankees brought the firepower. Lets see how Cliff Lee does in the next game...

Cliff is not pitching game 6 I think. They are going to leave Cliff in for the 7th game, just in case. Because they are counting on winning Friday so they can start Cliff in the WS.

JDW1479 10-21-2010 07:50 AM

The Yankees were due for a win at home. The Rangers spotted them that victory. The Rangers will win game 6. We should have won game one and this series should be over but our pitching fell apart.

Worse case senerio, it goes to game 7, and Cliff will seal the deal.

Have not seen you post here before, so I guess you are jumping on the bandwagon since they are winning. Otherwise you would never posted.

The Rangers spotted them that victory? :roflpuke2: :roflpuke2:

Cliff is human and the same pitching fall out can happend to the Rangers too!

antman22 10-21-2010 10:12 AM

I'm not gonna say the Rangers spotted them that victory, it was a romping on the Yankees part. It is difficult however to win that many games in a row however. You could have the best team playing the worst team in the league and to beat them 4 times in a row is extremely tough. It can be done, sure, but its not easy, especially against a team like the Yankees...at home.

Should be a fun game 6, the Rangers have something to prove back at home and the Yankees have a little momentum coming off a win. I hope its a slugfest battle, the lopsided victories make the game a little boring at times.

I have posted in the forums before but I never noticed the sports sub forum. As for the bandwagon, I'm gonna ride it all the way to the World Series. Since the Cowboys have pretty much ruined their season, us Dallas fans have to have something to cheer about.

I have always watched the Rangers on and off throughout the years, been to many games. I've been watching them since Nolan Ryan was pitching. Now I'm not a died hard baseball fan. Its one of the boringest sports to watch on TV, except in the playoffs. But if you go to the game, it just gives you another reason to have a beer.

As for Cliff Lee, he is human during the regular season, but in the playoffs he is a machine. He has never lost a playoff game. 7-0.

So you ARE NOT a real fan of the Rangers!! You just jump on the bandwagon because Dallas is sucking this season and they won. :shakes head:

When you are a real fan of your team you will stick with them Win or Lose.

Lemers 10-23-2010 08:31 PM

Just because someone routes for a different team in the playoffs doesn't mean they are a banwagon fan. As I've stated before I'm a red sox fan. But they didn't make the post season, so what do I do? Forget that there is still baseball being played? No I pick a different team to go for.

And like I've stated before my second favorite team is anyone beating the Yankees.

CCastro 10-23-2010 10:49 PM

Typical petty Red Sux fan. All those years of losing takes it's toll, even with the recent wins.

Lemers 10-24-2010 12:09 AM

Petty? For what? I don't see Yankee fans cheering for the Red Sox. Not even when the Red Sox went to the series. Also why is when a Red Sox fan says anything about past seasons a Yankee fan says "that's history we are winning now". But then when the Yankees are doing bad they fall back on how many world series wins they have. Like the players on the team this year have 20 something rings. Come on. This fun prodding back and forth. But some people can't take harmless joking and have to get personal by calling names like "petty" and "Red Sux".
