But then when the Yankees are doing bad they fall back on how many world series wins they have. Like the players on the team this year have 20 something rings. Come on. This fun prodding back and forth. But some people can't take harmless joking and have to get personal by calling names like "petty" and "Red Sux".

Oh c'mon, man, I was just busting your balls. And btw, I rooted for the Sox after they beat the Yanks :tiphat: and who is petty when you "root for whoever is playing the Yankees" that sounds petty to me!

Lemers 10-24-2010 12:17 AM

First when someone beats the Yankees that only helps the sox in the standings. I believe Yankees fans were feeling the same way with the Rays this year. Hoping that they would get beat. Second check out where I live right now and I lived in San Antonio for 15 yrs when I was younger so yes since the sox didn't make the playoffs I picked the rangers because they are closer to home town for me.

PapoZalsa 10-24-2010 09:12 AM

Congratulations to the SF even that I not going to jump in either bandwagon like many have done here!

I will watch it because I like baseball and to see if all the BS that has been talked by some people becomes reality at least for this season.

Lemers 10-24-2010 11:43 AM

You right Pop about all these people just jumping on bandwagons. So I'm gonna go for the Red Sox in the series!

So for all of those that said that Cliff Lee was invisible I guess tonight it has been proven WRONG!

Not saying that SF is going to win, ok!

I think you mean invincible. Actually tonight Lee was invisible!

JDW1479 10-28-2010 09:17 AM

Yes, he was invisible. He did not have a good game. Couldn't get ahead in the count and the Giants were very aggresive going after his pitches. Good game plan by the Giants. If we can win tonight, I think we will be in good shape. But 67% of the time, who ever wins the first game in the World Series, goes on to win it. Hopefully we can prove that statistic wrong. We are gonna have to win 4 straight to match my prediction.

Lemers 10-28-2010 10:10 AM

I love using statistics in sports to determine series winners. The only statistics that really matters is that the team to win 4 games wins the world series 100 % of the time in the best of 7 format.

tomnavone 10-28-2010 10:26 AM

The headline in my paper read "Lee falls off the Cliff" What an ugly game but a wins a win

Yeah, really?? :shakes head: For around the past 30 yrs the WS has been 4 out of 7 games for the championship.

Lemers 10-28-2010 09:26 PM

And that's why a 100% of the teams that win 4 games in the last 30 yrs won the series. And that why it's the only statistic that realy counts.

tomnavone 10-28-2010 10:03 PM

Go Giants!

tomnavone 10-28-2010 10:04 PM

Lincecum , cain, pray for rain! Now time for the leftys
Giants 2 games to 0
Texas looks terrible playing real baseball (national league.rules):stirthepot:

PapoZalsa 10-28-2010 10:14 PM

What happened to the Texas "faithful fans"?

Did they fell off the bandwagon or waiting for them to win a game to talk $hit and jump back in the bandwagon again?

Anyway it still 5 games to play, will see...

If the Giants need that many. Giants in five!

Jquad 10-28-2010 11:42 PM

7 Rangers

Lemers 10-29-2010 07:22 AM

I still think the rangers can pull it out. It's not unheard of for a team to drop as many as 3 games in a 7 games series and come back to win 4 in a row.

JDW1479 10-29-2010 07:44 AM

Texas "faithful fans" are still here, but after that beating, I think I'm gonna tuck my tail between my legs and curl up in a ball in a corner some where. Seems like its a close game until that one inning, then the wheels come falling off.

I am impressed with the Giants offense. Their bats are swinging very good, making the Texas pitchers work for the strikeout. Seems like the Yankees were a little bit more conservative in their offensive approach (basically letting the Texas pitchers control the count), where as the Giants batters are controlling the count.

And it doesn't help when we throw 12 balls in a row.

Hopefully Texas can turn it around at home.

antman22 10-29-2010 09:51 AM

Been pretty rough for the Rangers. It seems they used all their mojo in beating the Yanks...I look at it this way, at least they aren't like the Mavs who win the first two and then fall on their face...here's to hoping a bit of that Mavs luck graces the Giants.

It always happens. To most MLB teams, beating the Yankees is like winning the World Serious. Then they wake up, but it's too late. Shot the wad. It's over. Go Giants!

PapoZalsa 10-29-2010 09:24 PM

Let see when the Rangers "fans" comes out and jump in the bandwagon?

PapoZalsa 10-30-2010 08:52 PM

1st win for the Rangers, the bandwagon is ready to get packed...

1st WS win in franchise history.

JDW1479 10-30-2010 09:09 PM

Man I was getting nervous in the 8th inning after that homerun. I sure in the hell wouldn't have put the side arm pitcher in. Feliz came in and cleaned everything up. Thought he was gonna hit the century make with one of his pitches. Good outing by Colby.

Go Rangers! Lets get them tomorrow night!

Lemers 10-30-2010 09:52 PM

Yep your right people can't pick a team to route for during the world series

PapoZalsa 10-31-2010 10:32 PM

Well, not looking good but for Texas but you never know until the fat lady sings.

Anyway a win tonight for the Giants 4-0 and the WS is 3-1 in favor of SF.

antman22 10-31-2010 11:14 PM

Not lookin good for the Rangers at all. Maybe if the Giants were sporting some Yankee jerseys, it'd give the Rangers a little more motivation to win lol. Lets see if the Rangers can force the series to head back to SF.

I don't think Cliff Lee will have two bad game in a row. However if Lincecum pitches like he has its he is going to be a tough cookie and a good game.

Lemers 11-01-2010 03:23 PM

Is the world series still going on? Who's these rangers and giants everyone is talking about? Are they minor league teams? Why should the rangers catcher care who wins if he gets a world series ring no matter who wins?

Those are the same Rangers you are routing for and said were going against the Phillies. :roflpuke2:

OH, excuse me!

JDW1479 11-01-2010 09:27 PM

Its not looking to good...2 more outs to go.

PapoZalsa 11-01-2010 09:30 PM

Lee fell of a Cliff again!!!!

Well it looks like the Rangers will have to get those deer antlers from the clubhouse and stick them were the sun doesn't shine after all the $hit that was talked when they beat the Yankees.

The real fans never came out, only one person. What a shame for the AL!!

San Francisco Giants WS Champions 2010, Congratulations!!!

:vuvuzela::vuvuzela:

See you guys next seasons....
