CRAP -- wash hoping the F1 race would be over before the cup race started......CRAP!!!

m4a1mustang 06-13-2010 12:20 PM

Me too. Can't get my Justin.tv stream to play either. gah...

Sscottfitz 06-13-2010 12:22 PM

....wearing out my "back" button, got all 4 computers cranked up.....:icon17:

m4a1mustang 06-13-2010 12:25 PM

Haha. Nothing going on in the Cup race right now. Its very early on so I'm sticking with the GP 'til the end.

Sscottfitz 06-13-2010 12:27 PM

Don't know, looks like Lewis is cranking it up a little -- gotta be worried about tires AND FUEL? (maybe just tires)......

m4a1mustang 06-13-2010 12:28 PM

Since Button got by Alonso I have a feeling the top 3 are just going to cruise home to the finish...

m4a1mustang 06-13-2010 12:31 PM

LMFAO @ the convo between Vettel and engineer!

Sscottfitz 06-13-2010 12:32 PM

3.5 sec, 4 laps.....

Be interesting to know what the problem with Vettel is, they've been nursing it for a while......engine or brakes....?

Sscottfitz 06-13-2010 12:34 PM

Cup went to yellow -- 78 spun the 47......

m4a1mustang 06-13-2010 12:37 PM

Dull finish but an exciting race as far as F1 goes.

Sscottfitz 06-13-2010 12:37 PM

Two in a row for McLaren, gotta make Ron Dennis a happy man!!!!! I think that put Lewis & Jenson in the points lead?

Sscottfitz 06-13-2010 12:39 PM

OK, now to Fully Focused NASCAR Mode......Later

sig11 06-13-2010 07:46 PM

That was a fantastic race. Two great ones in a row. And to think the opening couple races had me worried.

Chupacabra 06-14-2010 08:30 AM

I think there was a word in pit road..... 'every car get in front of Ferrari and screw them over please'

Wonder Bread was fast though and would have won anyways... but god damn do I hate mclaren.

I think he was referring to the backmarkers...

m4a1mustang 06-14-2010 10:36 AM

BTW... to toot my own horn a little bit... Montreal showcased the type of racing I told you guys we'd see if we ran soft compounds EVERY race that degraded after a few laps and couln't run more than 25% of the distance.

This is the excitement that F1 needs!

Chupacabra 06-14-2010 12:03 PM

^^ agreed.... bridgestone needs to bring 5 lap soft tires, and 15 lap hard for every race.

import111 06-14-2010 07:38 PM

Also agree. Softer rubber that has more grip but degrades faster makes for a great race.

sig11 06-18-2010 03:03 PM

WOO!! Bridgestone swinging towards super-softs | Planet F1 | Formula One | News, Standings, Results, Features, Video

"Bridgestone are hoping to use their super-soft tyres in the bulk of this season's remaining races, opting for a more aggressive approach."

m4a1mustang 06-18-2010 03:07 PM

Yessssss!!! Finally a smart decision is made!

sig11 06-29-2010 03:41 PM

I can't believe no one posted about that wild race or Ferrari's freakout. :) Webber's wreck was one of the worst I've watched in memory.

WShade 06-29-2010 03:47 PM

I think we are all still in shock. My 6 yr old was watching the race with me and when Webber went over she said "He's dead daddy"

m4a1mustang 06-29-2010 04:03 PM

Webber's wreck wasn't bad at all... it just looked it.

The worst wrecks are always the ones you don't think were THAT bad...

Sscottfitz 07-10-2010 06:45 AM

Will be interesting to see how the Q session goes this morning for the BGP -- the Red Bull boys appear to be pretty strong.........AGAIN.......

m4a1mustang 07-10-2010 06:45 AM

I haven't seen any of the practice sessions yet so I'm interested to see what the new layout is like.

Hell -- I didn't even realize they'd made changes to the venue......or is this a totally new track?

They made a few changes to the last quarter of the track.

Sscottfitz 07-10-2010 06:50 AM

Just check the site, so they made modes to Silverstone.....

m4a1mustang 07-10-2010 06:51 AM

Yeah, they didn't go over well at first but from what I heard recently they ended up liking the changes.

Sscottfitz 07-10-2010 07:03 AM

Doesn't look like rain will come into play for the Q sessions. It IS raining it's A off at my house this morning......

Sscottfitz 07-10-2010 07:16 AM

Sector 2 seems to be where the Red Bulls separate themselves from the rest of the field -- almost .4 in that sector alone, S1 & S3 are a wash, at least so far in Q1

Sscottfitz 07-10-2010 07:23 AM

Looks like the race for position is going to be for 3rd on back -- RBs are looking VERY strong today...

Sscottfitz 07-10-2010 08:30 AM

All Red Bull Front Row -- will be interesting to see how the race plays out -- most interesting was to see the delta between Lewis & Jensen, one makes it to P4 with a struggling car and the other doesn't make it past Q2 -- interesting...

m4a1mustang 07-10-2010 08:32 AM

Red Bulls will dominate. I bet one of them is going to break, though. Probably Vettel... he's harder on the car than Webber.

Agreed, I think the only way anyone else has a chance for 1&2 is for a wreck or mechanical failure with one (or both) of the RBs - everyone else is racing for the last podium position....
OK, back to work, gotta get stuff done before the Cup race tonight.....

shaun66 07-11-2010 02:22 PM

Just got back from the race. amazing atmosphere at silverstone. Everyone cheered when Vettel went off lol. the crowd went crazy every time Hamilton got close to Webber. To bad he couldn't win it though. I'm still glad Webber won it over Vettel to show hes just as good as that brat.

It also says he wouldn't have stayed if he would have known he'd be number 2 to Vettel...

So what was the deal with the weird weather today -- was that actually the Sun shinning at Silverstone? Unheard of...... Was an interesting race, especially with Alonzo "self destructing"...
