Only one thing worst than a rain delayed race is listening to Martin Brundle ramble on!!! :icon14:

Just when you thought the 2005 USGP couldn't ever be topped!! Worst Race Ever!!!!!!! :shakes head:

Man! Russell really gave it to Lewis today! Wouldn't let him pass!
|
Podium for george!
|
LMAO! Well F1 is now a time attack event! I don't know how much I would be celebrating over a trophy that no one had a chance to complete for. Hell yeah feel good about where you qualified but that is it! For Max a win is a win count it and set the the trophy on the shelf and for Lewis, one could say it is a penalty adjustment so let's move on to some real racing!

Even Toto said that was a ballsy move from Russell / Williams to come back in and change to slicks then do an out lap and a prep lap, leaving it all-or-nothing for the final hot lap.
Of course, Williams had a lot less to lose in that strategy than would a Mercedes or Red Bull. It's an alright result in that it does very little to alter the constructors race, outside of the Willams bump. |
A big fat DUH -
Masi admits starting Q3 at Spa was a mistake By: Filip Cleeren Co-author: Adam Cooper Aug 31, 2021, 9:33 AM FIA Formula 1 race director Michael Masi has admitted that letting Q3 go ahead at the Belgian Grand Prix was the wrong decision, after Lando Norris crashed in atrocious conditions. |
Reports that Kimi has announced his retirement at the end of this season.
https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/ra...utm_content=uk Yes, it was time. But still sad to see him go. |

Alonso destroyed the myth of the Iceman when Kimi showed up the second time at Ferrari. Embarrassing to say the least. The numbers are ugly for that year. |
I think that recent pit entry fudge up was the real "you're done" to Kimi.

He is the most over rated WDC on the grid. Next is Vettel. I will not miss him at all. Massa showed how good he really was. He really was not that good. A fair racer who was hot or cold depending on the mood. Over paid. |
Kimi, is an anomaly. He is good enough and was special for a moment. He is a spectacle unto himself. He brought in lots of money because of his character which was good for his team and the sport. He is just part of the tapestry and I don't think any of the experienced drivers have thought to be relevant as a driver and more of an entertainer.
Vettel deserves more credit. You don't win multiple championships without some skill. His best years are behind him. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk |

That was fun. Newish track to most drivers mixed in with the track itself having some unique elements to figure out through the race.
Max with that jab to check Lewis' pace late in the race— "Is he complaining about something or what?" Vintage "VaLtTeRi It'S jAmEs". Bother Merc drivers played it off cool but you never know. |
Fun track. Pretty boring race, IMO.
On to the sprint race! |
Was an energetic event but not a great place to race. Drive yes. Passing at a premium.
Was never going to be anything other than a Max love-fest and victory. |
the race was interesting, Max had a bit more then Hamilton, it never appeared tight. But when you think of it, the gap was 3-4 seconds. Now that is not much and at this track it was all Max. Actually behind the leaders, down a few places, was interesting to see how the racing was.
Perez - can drive in traffic, but is needed up front Alonso - nice drive, was funny listening to Ocon saying he was faster and Alonso just step it up... Norris - on a nice comeback There was passing, but it was not in the first 5 positions... |
Perez for all his experience and skill, is inconsistent in this car. Dare I say he is not handling the RedBull car or pressure well. I think its mental for him. Bottas is the far better #2 in the top team area.
|
Max is such that they have no real good #2 option other than Perez as Bottas is off to Alfa. Bottas would have been superb at RedBull simply because he brings Mercedes knowledge and has had to deal with LH on the other side of the garage as well.
|
New team, new regulations, multi-year deal, old boss, likely doesn't have to play sidekick to Gio....seems like a good move for Bottas in terms of being a bit less stressful of an environment.

Perez started from the pit lane on a new PU penalty. So not entirely of his doing.
And then he passed cars that he should have had no problems passing - so not particularly spectacular but well done on this track. Was the best part of a hum-drum race, but he'd have deserved his *** kicked if he hadn't got by most of those! WTF was Ricciardo doing? Hold Checo up, not wave him by!!! C'mon, is this the same driver that at Renault would hold up three cars for 15 laps? I don't know what's wrong with that boy this year, but I think he's past his best before date when Lando has shown him up at every race. Bottas: "(If it wasn't for the fastest lap) then why did you pit me?" Engineer: "<so Lewis could get the fastest lap without you beating him, you has-been. F-off and take it like a man, and don't even try to get the fastest lap yourself>" |
Flurry of signings this weekend.
Bottas to Sauber/Alfa for "multi year deal", Russell to Mercedes, Tsunoda and Gasley confirmed for another year at AT. Thoughts? |

I thought the race was alright. I liked the suspense of whether Lewis would actually catch Max, but I think Merc chose the wrong tire. Again, they both showed that the rest of the field is simply not on their level by lapping everyone but the podium spots. Honestly, they should just have a separate championship called F-Zero (lol nintendo vibes) and let Lewis and Max go 1v1 for sprint races. Same car.
For driver moves: I think Bottas's move to Alfa Romeo was a good one. He has a good relationship with the team boss and has valuable experience running in the front. He's a solid and reliable driver. Ya'll already know I'm team George. Not going to comment more. He made a very strong case for why he deserves that seat. Has anyone heard that Horner is looking to blame Mercedes if Albon doesn't get a seat at Williams? What a clown. Red bull has (effectively) 3 seats available and refuse to put him in one of the seats. I am glad that Alpha Tauri kept Pierre and Tsunoda. Yuki needs some more experience and i think at least deserves another season. Gasly has been a top performer and is carrying the team. I would not be shocked if he gets a better seat in 2023 with a non RB team. |
Quote:
Too bad RedBull didnt hire Bottas!! LOL :) RedBull too afraid or bitter about Gasly. Marko is the problem. He poisons the atmosphere and Horner has no power. Its Marko. Period. |
|
Well then, Albon is at Williams. Good for him! He certainly should get another chance IMO.
At least we don't have to hear Christian crying -_- |

https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/re...tions/6662708/ Red Bull released Albon for Williams F1 seat but has ‘future options’ By: Luke Smith Sep 8, 2021, 9:57 AM Red Bull has confirmed it released Alexander Albon so he could make a racing return to Formula 1 next year with Williams, but still has a relationship including “future options”. Asked about Albon’s status with Red Bull from next year following the announcement, Williams F1 boss Jost Capito said: “What I can tell you is that he is a Williams driver in 2022. Whatever that means is up to you. “Maybe you have to ask Red Bull, but for us he is a Williams driver and that is it.” But Red Bull clarified via a spokesperson that while Albon had been released, there were still links in place between the two parties. “We have released Alex to become a Williams Racing driver in 2022, but retain a relationship with him that includes future options,” the statement reads. Albon’s signing also shuts off a possible seat for Mercedes Formula E driver Nyck de Vries next year, but Capito said that Wolff understood the decision. “I think Toto at the end, he understands and we understand that we are not a B-team and we are not a satellite team,” Capito said. |
:rofl2:

funny, with MAX and Ham, both not wanting to give an inch, which makes this championship fun to watch. But I do think Ham with get a grid penalty. Considering how many 5 sec penalties were handed.
Nice job by McLaren and Bottas, he was on a run update - I was wrong on the grid penalty, just figure the way things were going that Ham was going to get it. again, its two guys just racing very hard and not wanting to give in regardless |
Best race of the year as soon as the dithering schoolgirls of Max and LH were self eliminated LOL. Who cares what happens with that silly event.
Great race after they crashed. Bye Max and LH. We do not need you in this sport LOL :) |
Utterly predictable:
Verstappen gets penalty for F1 Italian GP incident with Hamilton By: Jonathan Noble Sep 12, 2021, 12:50 PM Max Verstappen will take a three-place grid drop for Formula 1’s Russian Grand Prix after stewards said he was to blame for the crash with Lewis Hamilton at Monza. |
Not trying to shade Lewis, I feel like roles reversed could've seen different penalties again.
Otherwise I'm not putting much weight in this incident. It's not like anyone should hang on to this end of season like this was the deciding race. I would've felt that more about Silverstone and Hungary, especially since they happened right after each other. If everything goes smooth, though. Lewis should have next week in the bag. Inevitable team orders to try give him pole are lined up since they're guaranteed Max will start no higher than 4th. But again, Max will likely get a better start then whoever is between him and Mercedes. |
