I am impressed with LeClerc as how he gets the car into the points as he has done...

Fun watching Max take it to them, also fun watching Hamilton and seeing if he can close the gaps.....

So if it is hot in Spain, will Mercedes been struggling with there tires?

I think Max33 will have more fans and better following if the homeland decides on just one name - either Holland or Netherlands.

LeClerc was great. Bummed that Danny spun and dropped multiple positions. Albon made mega moves on the same part of the track and nobody in is path could stop him. The rest of the Ferrari-Vettel season relationship has to continue to go up in flames, no?

On to the next Grand Prix!
Binotto: Vettel spin hurt 70th Anniversary GP race more than Ferrari’s strategy

Sorry Seb - you were more of a problem than the team.

https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/15...strategy-calls

Ferrari Formula 1 chief Mattia Binotto says Sebastian Vettel's first-lap spin hurt his race more than the team's strategy calls, despite confusion from the German driver at Silverstone.

Vettel slumped to 12th place in Sunday's 70th Anniversary Grand Prix at Silverstone after spending much of his race stuck in the midfield, trailing a group of cars that he struggled to overtake.

The four-time world champion dropped to last place on the opening lap when he spun his car at the first corner, losing control after riding over the kerb on the inside.

Vettel questioned Ferrari's strategy calls after the race, saying the team had gone against its original plan set in the morning and that the decision to run a short stint on the hard compound tyre "didn't make any sense".

He was also heard questioning the strategy call over team radio during the race, saying: "You know that you've messed up."

Team principal Binotto was sympathetic to Vettel's ongoing struggles with the SF1000 car, but said the spin at the start was more detrimental to his race than any decision made by Ferrari's pit wall.

"I don't think Sebastian has lost faith," Binotto said on Sky Sport Italia after the race.

"He is going through a difficult time in qualifying and the last two races where he hasn't found confidence in the car. Here, he spun putting his wheels on the kerb, and his race was uphill.

"I honestly think there is little to say about strategies. We [were early] perhaps by a few laps with the call that made him lose the position to [Kimi] Raikkonen. However, we knew he would recover without losing time.

"It allowed Charles [Leclerc] to continue his comeback. Overall, it was the right choice for the team and we don't think we penalised Sebastian.

"He regained [the position] immediately on Kimi, he wouldn't have been able to do an overcut on [Daniil] Kvyat, because he was going as fast as he was at that time, and then he undercut [Carlos] Sainz.

"His race was compromised at the start, and I think that was the key, not the strategy chosen."

Vettel said after last weekend's British Grand Prix that he was struggling with a lack of confidence in the Ferrari SF1000 car.

He could only qualify 12th on Saturday for the second Silverstone race, and failed to score points for the second time in four races.

It leaves Vettel 13th in the drivers' standings after five rounds with 10 points, marking his worst start to a season since his first full year in F1 with Toro Rosso in 2008.

The compounds should be the one's used in the first UK race last week. The heat will matter again I think..............

https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/15...er-fault-found

Sebastian Vettel will get a new chassis for this weekend's Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix after Ferrari found a "small fault" on his car after last Sunday's race at Silverstone.

Vettel endured two difficult weekends at Silverstone across the British Grand Prix and the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix, qualifying and finishing no higher than 10th over the races.

The four-time world champion spoke of a lack of confidence with the Ferrari SF1000 car, and experienced a first-corner spin in the 70th Anniversary race that spoiled his race.

Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto confirmed after the race on Sunday that a chassis change was being considered for Vettel in a bid to try and remedy his struggles.

Ferrari has now confirmed it will change Vettel's chassis ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya after finding an issue.

"Sebastian will have a new chassis, because after the Silverstone post-race analysis, we spotted a small fault caused by a heavy impact over a kerb," head of chassis engineering Simone Resta explained.

"It would not have had much of an effect on performance, but it was the logical decision to take."

If nothing changes for SV then what? With an objective lens should they cut him loose. They already let the world know what they think of him.

I don't think they will let him go since he is under contract. However with Ferrari anyone's guess is as good as mine.

So much rejection and disrespect though. Granted SV wasn't delivering, Ferrari didn't deliver a worthy car to go against Mercs either. They had to cheat to beat them.

I don't entirely get this.

They had to go deep into there to repair/replace whatever it was that was gushing oil after he hit the curb hard in FP2, but they didn't look for / see any other damage until after an abysmal qualifying session and the race? That's pathetic.

Let's face the reality, to Vettel AND the F1 fans.

Ferrari won't do anything to bring Vettel back to the top, they are dumping him after this season and it is non-senses to make him fast.

Ferrari's F1 management would like people think they have make a correct decision on dumping Vettel therefore a struggling Vettel is a perfect character to fit into this scenario.

Parc Ferme rules. Not worth the effort or overtime to bust crew curfew now. No matter he is not Charles and in the end they wanted to see how his race went. The very minor chassis damage has nil effect. This is the team doing what they can so he can do better ...........maybe lol

He had a new motor. No change in his performance. He is just not there at all. Who knows why. He is like Kimi after his title. Kimi never really recovered. A bit at Lotus but again at Ferrari he was useless overall.
