Yep. Pulled several off. I have pics and some helpful tips on the Gen 3 intake. I will load them into a new album and if you have questions just shoot. Pics are now loaded

KaienZ34 02-15-2011 09:01 PM

Thanks again for all the help. I forget does the car HAVE to be lifted to pull the bumper ? Or does it just help immensely ??

bucketman 02-15-2011 09:11 PM

No problem. You still have the silver car? You can pull the bumper without jacking the car up, but if you haven't done it before you will never get all the bolts and plastic rivets out. It is way to easy to lift the car up and save your self a lot of hassle.

bucketman 02-15-2011 09:19 PM

Hey. I have an idea.(doesn't happen often). If LaffiteZ is willing and enough of you want to, we can get together at my place and install his Gen 3 intake. This will give everyone a first hand view of how to pull the bumper and install an intake. This will prove helpful to future mods. What do ya'll think?

KaienZ34 02-15-2011 09:19 PM

No the gray 370 is gone, yeah the only time i've done that was when you helped me with mine. I just would like to test fit my amuse but my jack is not low enough.

Just drive it up on a couple of pieces of 2 by 6 or 8, that ought to lift it up enough(even with your wheels ) to get the jack under it. Have you found someone to do the kit yet?

KaienZ34 02-15-2011 09:49 PM

No one in my neck of the woods that can be trusted not to treat the Z like sh!t. So it's still sitting in the shed.

bucketman 02-15-2011 10:02 PM

If you want I can talk to my friend Fabian. He does paint and body work. I would have to say he is the best I have ever seen. The most anal painter I have ever met. How many pieces in the kit?

Punk86 02-15-2011 10:15 PM

Im always down for a field trip.

RYNO 02-15-2011 10:30 PM

bucketman you trying to double the Z's in your shed?!?!?! jk :D

KaienZ34 02-15-2011 10:45 PM

As of now i've got the front/rear bumpers and the sides skirts. I'll most likely getting a set of fenders soon. Still unsure on the wing but it will most likely not need to be painted as it will be carbon fiber. I'm in the works right now to get a used but allready white with the black fang insert stillen front bumper. Even swap for stock bumper, but that's neither here nor there.

So I've got some money to spend...

I think I'm going to pick up a set of coilovers to get prepared for my wheels.

I can get pretty good deals on BC Coilovers, if anyone is interested in getting a set, PM me and I can extend the deals.

TypeOne 02-25-2011 02:04 PM

If anyone is interested in Stillen parts... lmk.. I'm now a local dealer of their stuff.

:-D

metz 02-25-2011 02:25 PM

Anyone know somewhere local I can get a set of springs and camber arms installed. I started doing it myself last time I was off but the compressor I picked up wasn't allowing it to compress far enough. I won't be able to find the time for another diy for awhile but want to get it done soon.

KaienZ34 02-25-2011 03:07 PM

I know typeone did has own springs.

KaienZ34 02-26-2011 08:47 AM

I'll most likely keep it, i just don't have the cash to get it painted til income tax comes it.

TypeOne 02-26-2011 11:14 AM

Like I said, I know a guy that can paint it... you'll just have to drive a ways to get to him.

He's awesome though, he has painted a lot of cars for me. All professional stuff.

KaienZ34 02-26-2011 11:24 AM

Any ball park price ? I know he'll have to see it to give a correct price, i'm just trying to put a budget together. I know that bucketman knows a damn good paint shop in BR, i wounder if the sameone.

Str8balln 02-26-2011 07:33 PM

Going to the track for the first time tomorrow(circuitgrandbayou). Any advice? Never done nothing like this before.

KaienZ34 02-26-2011 07:46 PM

I know bucketman has done quite a few road course/auto-x runs there. Is it single car runs or open lapping, also where in la or you from thanks.

lazer_Z 02-26-2011 10:11 PM

ive done many many laps there on both bikes and in a car. take it easy and go at your own pace. dont try to set any land speed records. and in all actuality, that track is a lot faster the slower you feel like your going. my best times have been when i thought i was creeping around the track.
