SoCal Dealerships?

Hi guys, what are your experiences with the dealerships here in SoCal? I want to take my car in for warranty services, which dealership is the most experienced/least amount of BS?

Call Linda @ Miller Nissan in Van Nuys...here's why.

I just had to have my clutch fluid replaced w/ the GTR brake fluid per
Bulletin Number: NTB13-026A

Since I had bought the car in Oceanside and didn't want to drive all the way back down there, I called around locally.

1) Glendale Nissan...the service mgr. was a total prick to me on the phone.
acted like he was unaware of this problem, then said I was out of warranty coverage for this issue...my orig. factory warranty expired on 2/4/14, 5 days before this problem.

2) Nissan Mission Hills...they told me it warranty had expired and that the Certified Pre-Owned Warranty didn't cover it. They wanted $200 to change out the clutch fluid.

3) Miller Nissan in Van Nuys...called and spoke to Linda in service. She asked for my vin., saw the service bulletin and said to come in for an inspection.
She had their courtesy car drive me all the way to work in Hollywood...even though it was outside of their normal boundary.

Went in last Friday morning. She called me at 2 and said they were replacing the fluid at no charge...even through the orig. warranty had expired.
Car was ready by 4p. **fully washed!**

Tested her out this weekend and clutch seems to be fine now.

Give Linda a call.

The Z is know to have serious issues w/ the CSC and/or CMC.

Nissan released a service bulletin in 2013 because drivers were having their clutches fail and/or clutch pedal going to the floor and not returning top is normal position.

Per Nissan: Subject: SB 370Z Coupe And Roadster; Clutch Pedal Does Not Return To Rest Position

Summary of NTB13026: IF YOU CONFIRM: The clutch pedal on an applied vehicle does not return to its normal (rested) position after being depressed to the floor OR The customer states the clutch pedal on an applied vehicle does not return to its normal (rested) position after being depressed to the floor *AND There are no leaks in the clutch hydraulic system*. ACTION: Change the clutch hydraulic system fluid with GT-R R35 Special Brake Fluid (see PARTS INFORMATION). - Refer to SERVICE PROCEDURE for bleeding procedure. See this bulletin for further detail.

There's several threads here on the forum about this.

The oem Z fluid fails at high temps, so the quick fix was to replace w/ GTR fluid which is more heat tolerant. This fix often only works temporarily and the CSC and/or CMC still often fail and must be replaced.

I've had issues with Fontana Nissan (35 miles added to odometer to install coilovers) and OC Nissan Irvine (60 miles added to odometer to replace failed catalytic converter) both having technicians joyride in my car so good luck with your search. The sneaky part was that both dealerships wrote the in and out mileage with a difference of 5-10 miles, so on paper everything looked good. However, as soon as I got into the car, I checked the odometer and it was a good amount higher than the out mileage written on the invoice. My car will never be taken to a dealership. Ever. :shakes head:

This is the exact reason why I take a date-stamped photo of my odometer at the dealership when I drop it off. They can fudge whatever bs paperwork they want, but I have the truth

I just used Hooman Nissan in Signal Hill after a stereo place butchered my install, disabled S mode, key fob light was on, passenger window would roll down in increments after I opened and closed the door and I needed an oil change. They said they give you a free loaner which is the same as the car you drive. I work right by the place so I didn't need it but I'll make sure to use that servide next time. I've only been to this dealership once but it was a positive experience.

That sound pretty serious. I haven't driven the car too hard yet but the brake fluid still looks pretty clear. Can I ask for the GTr fluid without any previous symptoms? I'm actually getting an oil consumption issue.
