All done :)

And before anyone asks, no, the wrapping tape is not touching any part of the actual paint. It's just there to re-enforce the masking tape from peeling and flailing about.

bet money you WILL catch rocks past the blue, mask it all the way to the edge, already had a rock fly right up there past my clearbra, and one hit just over the window! Yikes. SOON you will be able to dump the front plates too once you register it in FLORIDA:) Welcome home!

AlphaSnacks 04-05-2013 05:02 PM

I ran out of tape! LOL

As long as I can prevent any damage to the immediate front end, I'm content with that. Got my detailing kit with me as well as dozens of microfibers to wipe off excessive bug splatter on the window, rest of the hood and roof. :p

Anyone going to that UTI deal tomorrow? Even my wife knew about it from her friends group running it, met him at Med school.

New guy checking in from Tallahassee. It looks as though I'm in good company in Florida.

happytheman 04-08-2013 12:05 PM

Hey welcome man! Tallahassee, one of the few spots in Florida with hills! ;)

How goes it up there?

boarderbob 04-08-2013 12:30 PM

Thanks. Not too bad, though I do hate seeing a yellow dust on the Z from the pollen.

chpt11 04-08-2013 01:02 PM

Welcome

Welcome to Fl.

LostSol 04-08-2013 01:07 PM

I appreciate the welcome. The hills in Tallahassee, combined with the horrid road conditions, make for horrible driving. Head out into the surrounding counties a bit, and then there's some fun to be had.

I've seen there are some regular meets in central Florida. What about west Florida?

Hello, you can check out our group Florida Panhandle Z/G Community on facebook. We do a lot of meets mostly in the Fort Walton Beach, Destin area and occasionally in Panama City Beach. I know that is a bit of drive from Tally but we are all the time doing something.

MACSIMIZER 04-08-2013 06:39 PM

Also check out Tallahassee Z/G Club on facebook.

AlphaSnacks 04-08-2013 08:21 PM

Made safe and sound. Unfortunately the tape and all began to peel away shortly after my drive began, so I ripped it all off. I didn't want to bother with fluttering tape throughout the drive and figured it's best to not stand out like a sore thumb since I did 90MPH most of the way.

I got away with tons of dead bugs...but miraculously one rock scratch (in DC of all sh!tholes) right by the fake-vent by the passenger-side fang, and it's only a minor clear coat blemish that'll polish out for sure. Otherwise, thanks to copious waxing and a thick clear, no new rock chips. :)

Took the front NY plate off immediately too. Hahaha

Huck 04-08-2013 08:55 PM

That's the first thing I'd do too lol

Huck, there are hills in the Clermont area! But when i used to go on US27 up towards tavares, the cops loved that road but im sure there are lots of side roads.

When I drive to Z days, my car will be flippin COVERD in blue tape, im not gettin rock chips all over! nu uh

Huck 04-09-2013 01:21 AM

Lol in all honesty painters tape does t really do much of anything to protect your paint, and you already have a clear bra. If you want more protection get some of that temporary clear wrap stuff that you can just stick on real quick a d then take off when you like.

MIssion Accomplished!: (with my big flag on the carrier type) I was going to work last night and the blue MB Z came from behind me on Boggy creek so I flagged him down, he slowed down and I said YO I have that red Z you see all the time, he said oh really? I told him about this site so we will now wait and see. He stayed behind me the rest of the way to work till he broke off to go towards Narcoossee!

And you thought I couldnt do it in my Honda:) Then again, I keep my cars bright and shiny and classy so I guess he was like hmm ill slow down and open the window. Or thought I wanted to race? lolz

Huck 04-09-2013 02:22 PM

His story starts off like this:

Today this crazy dude in a Honda....

:bowrofl:

Huck 04-09-2013 07:21 PM

Today I was driving home from work when I spotted a red 370 sport, it was a younger guy with an exhaust and a fog light. we played chase for a few minutes then I pulled up next to him. He complimented the car and I asked if he was on the forum. He said not much, my name is Apollo Z. I looked him up and the last time he was on was November lol. But apparently he lives 10 minutes from me in Cape Canaveral, it's crazy that I haven't seen before now.

Huck 04-10-2013 08:40 AM

Lol he's kinda gone now.

What are some of the recommended shops in the Orlando/Windermere area? I know Performance Race Solutions is one of them. Any others that are great with Zs and maybe even Uprev certified?

LostSol 04-11-2013 06:08 AM

I've been to PRS, Rev Works, and Kami Speed. I think of those only PRS does uprev tuning, and Rev Works is my shop of choice as of late, they have always taken good care of me.

Huck 04-11-2013 07:06 AM

Kami speed is in Florida? Didn't know that. Titan is the only other place I can think of, seen a few nice gtr's come out of there.

Huck 04-11-2013 07:08 AM

And yeah, Rev Works is a good place to go, Marti and the guys are great. They do a LOT of motor work for Z's, Suby's, BMW's, and Toyobaru's.

Kami Speed: 7901 Kingspointe Pkwy #23, Orlando, FL

We held an Acura meet there when I was a regional coordinator on an Acura forum.

lol all of us Honda change over ppl. Honda hadnt made a fun car in years and Im glad nissan still does!

Niche79 04-11-2013 02:57 PM

Well I got my steering lock replaced under recall today! I took it to Universal Nissan on OBT in south Orlando. Minor gripes after were it makes a weird noise now when you hit the start buttom, maybe because its a different type of switch? The second was I had called last Teusday (today is Thurs) and they scheduled me for a 11am appt. When I got there about 10 till 11 I was looked over and finally they figured out I was the one who had the car which needed to be fixed. Guess they thought I coudlnt afford it, I was like really??!! Then the guy said oh well we can get it in around 2 maybe 3!!!!! I said Wait....I scheduled over a week ago for 11am apt. Why do you even take appts if you are just going to push them back hours on end. He gave me the sob story about the que and so many cars in front of me. I said well then dont setup apts if your not going to make it. I said if I woulda known I would have just went to the Nissan in Cocoa and chilled with huck since his was done in an hour or so. He walks in 10 mins later after taking my car and said "oh were gonna get you done before lunch!" I was like good now that sounds better. Overall it was a success, just didnt really enjoy how things rolled at first.

On a side note, they had 6 z's on the lot, 5 of them were auto!!! but I did get to see that new midnight blue up close and I can see why it would appeal to many people. Oh and they had a camaro ZL1 vert roped off in the showroom floor...of the Nissan!!!!??? haha FUN TIMES.

LostSol 04-11-2013 03:07 PM

Bill Ray Nissan in Sanford took really good care of me when I went there. Just FYI

AlphaSnacks 04-11-2013 06:34 PM

Wow, Kami Speed is really close to where I live.

They're a great vendor here, I think I got my Swift springs from them actually.

How is their work?

Huck 04-12-2013 01:12 AM

Yeah they had the second best price for Swifts that I could find. I may have to go over there and see what's up sometime. Are they just a store, or do they have an actual garage?

LostSol 04-12-2013 07:08 AM

When I went there I just saw their store front but Im sure they have a shop since I've gotten quotes for work done there. They're cool guys, pretty laid back.

I will say however that RevWorks does a great job, I cant recommend them enough!

Huck 04-12-2013 07:51 AM

Cool cool, yeah I went to Rev Works with a concern about my car, they spent about 20 minutes looking it over for me and then explained what was going on and that it was nothing to worry about, and then they refused to charge me. Good guys in my book.

Osiris 04-12-2013 08:17 AM

When i bought my wheels and springs from Kami speed, they didn't have a garage at that time. So, typically you want to go to a shop that has had experience working on your car before and maybe has been around for a while. Just my 2 cents.

AlphaSnacks 04-12-2013 11:44 AM

Agreed.
