How often do you guys meet in Orlando? Sorry, I didn't feel like searching back 10 pages to see where the meets are. Plus I'm at work and my boss wouldn't want me to either :P

There are various meet-ups every month with more than one group/club. Typically multiple makes/models. It's been difficult to organize a Z only meet. But i'd say we average 2 meets/activities a month.

Keep an eye out for me along the way, I'll also be heading over on 528. The distance isn't keeping me from meeting everyone in Deland, but the getting up early is. LOL

Ahhh okay. Thanks! I suppose some type of meet is better than no meet at all!

Maybe Ill plan my drive down around a meet. So I can stop in on my way to West Palm.

Well I guess you guys are at the prime of your years and the body still begs for a 8 hr sleep. In time 5 to 6 hrs of sleep will be just enough.:tiphat:

One of my first love in my youthful years is a 528 until now it never fails to catch my attention. Im still wanting to have one sometime...

How about a nice House Warming with your fellow Z members at your new home? :driving:

Stino 08-23-2012 07:03 PM

Anyone in the Melbourne, FL area. Performance shops and/or Z clubs.

AlphaSnacks 08-23-2012 07:16 PM

What shops do you guys go to that are great with cars like ours? Any specialty places?

depends on what you want done. i'm very particular on who works on my car, so i can recommend some places.

AlphaSnacks 08-23-2012 09:12 PM

I am very picky too. I'm looking for general bolt-on work, supercharger (maybe), tuning work. I've done everything I've wanted to do on my Z, but in case I want to supercharge this car, or do work on another car.

i'd recommend this place

AlphaSnacks 08-23-2012 09:26 PM

Awesome. Thank you!

Osiris 08-23-2012 09:31 PM

and yes, they've worked on my car before and tuned it as well. When i have the money to get my Quaife diff and new clutch i'll have them install it.

Sounds awesome. What is their hourly labor rate?

They seem like a very high-end shop (which I love)...so I'm assuming it's up there in cost...but then again the New Yorker in me is just being pessimistic. I find myself extremely surprised by how cheap everything is down there. Hahaha

Osiris 08-23-2012 10:22 PM

if i remember right it was 80-90hr

AlphaSnacks 08-23-2012 10:25 PM

Hahaha, yet another surprise for me. NY shops, no matter which shop you go to, charge $110-140.

Osiris 08-23-2012 10:31 PM

Well that will be cheap for you then! Let me know when you visit them, i live right around the corner from their shop.

Yep. And they need more Zs to work on. Too many mustangs in there! :roflpuke2:

But seriously, it's a great shop. I live in Orlando now, and I still drive over there to bother TJ. :D

Harry Potter Roller Coaster Adventure Ride?:tup:Kidding.
FL is flat land no mountainous areas....Maybe some sharp curves but with city traffic I doubt if you can make a 60mile pass.

That is why I'm looking of moving to North Carolina up in the mountains if I can find a job. I like to leave in a cabin house.

nismochiq 08-27-2012 05:53 PM

Ok so I had a little problems with my z as some of you might know, had a nail in my tire, my fuel was contaminated, cleaned it out with fuel injector cleaner works fine now but my check engine light is still on, stopped sputtering and maintains good rpm at idle. But the VDC light comes on and loses power I'm thinking it might have been the tire but roamed around the threads with it and found it might be the throttle body, what do you guys think? I still am going to take it to Deland Nissan.

Describe "loses" power? Does the light stay on? Any other lights along with it? When this happens, can you rev the engine past 2500rpm? If you shut car off and back on do the symptoms go away?

It happens when i am on the highway or after I have been driving a while. Losing power meaning not much acceleration but still can go. It stays on but turns off when I turn on and off the car.

well, on the bright side, it doesn't sound like full limp mode...believe me, you'll know when that happens! Been there! But still, something ain't right, you taking it in tomorrow?

nismochiq 08-27-2012 06:32 PM

Probably and yes I'm glad it isn't full limp mode lol, I've got class so I am going to figure something out in between

happytheman 08-27-2012 09:33 PM

Yeah, take it to Derek. He'll get you straightened out. I had a fouled throttle body on my Cougar some years ago and it had very laggy acceleration. Good luck.

Thanks a lot and I will! :)

Huck 08-27-2012 11:30 PM

That's weird, I wonder why a dirty throttle body would make the VDC light come on? I thought that came on only when it was something wrong with steering, traction, or braking. Let us know how it turns out!
