I did a full correction on a M3 just before winter that was "polished" by someone else. It took me 3 full compounding steps to remove all the swirls, buffer trails and scratches created by the previous polisher. A good portion of the hood and fenders required light wet sanding even. On top of that, there isn't a lot of clear coat left on the guy's paint now because of how much needed to be removed during the process, given the level of correction he was looking for.
