Living near Anderson, and not really looking to have a super long commute in a State I don't know the roads in, where would be the best places to start

Living near Anderson, and not really looking to have a super long commute in a State I don't know the roads in, where would be the best places to start looking for Employment?

Yeah Norfolk-Southern has openings in Columbia and Charleston, and as much as I'd like to rock it in C-Town, that's way too far of a drive.
