STS makes the kit I think they make them to order. They are under 6k for the kit and they estimate 12 hours of install time. If you want to purchase one you will have to hit up Jamica@uamotorsports he is a vender on the forum. You think u may buy one? I am going to wait for my bonus check and maybe buy.

Awesome. So far there is 3 of us. I'm thinking 7pm. Does that work for you?

So is the meeting at 7pm at Wild Wings in North Chuck still a go?

I've always heard bad things about rear mounted turbo. But sounds like there are positives and negatives to this kit. I would be interested to see more of them out there before jumping to one.

Yes, looks like there is going to be 4 of us. I will probably park out in the middle of the Best Buy parking lot. Maybe we can take some shots of the cars together.

Ok well I finally figured out what was wrong with my car yesterday. I took it to the shop to see what the deal was and to install my oil cooler. Once I had it on the lift I noticed my rear driverside oxygen sensor unplugged (wtf). The car wiring harness was also ripped off of the little plastic clip that holds it to the little bracket on the bottum of the tranny. I hooked it back up and zipped tied it back to the bracket and all is good now. Thank goodness the wires were ok. So on to the oil cooler installation when I noticed a piece of the lower engine cover or what ever its called (black piece that covers the bottum of the car) was missing. It is a 6"x24" plastic piece that connects to the nismo specific bottum cover. I knew I didnt run over anything, I suppose this piece blew off when I was running 135mph down the interstate and took out my o2 sensor harness. BTW this little piece of black plastic cost $392.00 from the dealership (what a rip off, I will be making a new one from ABS plastic, the same thing the factory one is made out of). Well in the end im glad I got my car running right. I did learn a few things aswell so I thought I would share. Bank 1 = Passenger side, Bank 2 = Drivers side, O2 sensor 1 = Pre Cat (Air/Fuel)sensor, and 02 sensor 2 = Post Cat sensor.

HKYStormFront 06-13-2011 09:56 PM

lol, yea that would tend to throw a code :bowrofl: glad you figured out what was causing it tho!

Glad to hear you figured it out. Did you get a Z1 oil cooler?

ClemsonWill 06-14-2011 10:05 AM

Yea I got the Z1 25 roe cooler with a 180 thermostatic sandwich plate. Z1 also offers a protective wrap for the oil lines which I got aswell. Have not driven it to much but have not seen any temps above 195 degrees yet. Installation was easy and the cooler fit perfect. Just had to put a couple washers behind the upper brace to push the cooler back a little and flip the chassis strut around.

ClemsonWill 06-14-2011 04:38 PM

That is going to be my next purchase. I can't decide which one to go with though. I need to do some more research. I will definitely check out that Z1 more closely. It seems really nice.

Walhalla, SC

What's up guys. Just got a 09 brilliant silver z on May 19. I'm new to the forums so give me a break if I do something wrong. I live in Walhalla, SC (near Clemson). A lot of people near??? Meets???

I want to mod the car some, but not sure what to do... I had a 07 BMW 328i blacked out before the z. I didn't do anything to the engine, so I want to start inside-out with the z.

Rooskey 06-18-2011 08:05 PM

Welcome to our SC thread 864Zbeast. Always glad to see another Z in the upstate.

Welcome Mr. Beast! You live in a great area. There's lots to do with the Clemson sports Car club events and hopefully there will be some meets come cooler weather (poke the elephant). I have family in Pickens/Six Mile so hopefully I will be coming up at least a couple of times before the end of the year.

First mods are typically intakes, exhaust, HFC, springs and spacers. There's tons if info on each on the forum. Enjoy your new addiction!

Hopefully we can meet up soon! :tiphat:

Hey thanks guys!! Matt your car is an absolute monster!

ClemsonWill thanks for the welcome. I was planning on doing intake/exhaust etc. first since I didn't do either to my last ride.

Sorry I missed the meet at Wild Wings last week, but I had to work. Let's go ahead and plan the next one. I'm excited to meet some fellow Z owners. There is someone else here at work (Nucor Steel) with one, I'll talk to him and see if he wants to come along.

Only by me and my gf LOL! JK!!. But honestly people can look that up online and find out your personal residence, etc.

My_third_Z 06-20-2011 01:37 AM

I've always found it odd when people are worried about blurring out their license plate number online. Each day I drive to work I see hundreds of plates. What's the difference?

IMWEZL 06-20-2011 07:04 AM

LOL...that was actually one of the ideas I had for a customized plate. Guess I can scratch that one out from my list.

Sounds good to me. Let's tentatively schedule something for mid July! Maybe the 19th?

Im down for another meet..

I installed H&R with extended replacement studs on nurseryboy's Z. 15mm F and 20mm rear.

Only negative with the H&Rs is the gap behind the wheels. The spacer is smaller than the back face of the wheel hub. Everything is structurally sound. There just a small gap between the wheel hub and the rotor. You can't see it unless you are up on the wheel looking in at the spacer. You can kind of see it in the picture below. I have no idea if any of the other companies make one a little larger in diameter.

July 19th is good with me. I'm down.

sms8386 06-20-2011 08:46 PM

It looks good with the spacers. I think it's a must have for the stock sport wheels.

The 19th works for me if I'm not in Germany.

ok, sounds good. We can tentatively schedule for the 19th.

I agree. The spacers make for a much better looking stance.

v8killa 06-23-2011 08:55 AM

Hey Matt your the one who I talked to about buying/trading for my stollen exhaust correct? Sorry I missed the meet guys I was in Missouri on leave :/ I should def be at the next one on the 19th....we got a time and place yet?

v8killa 06-23-2011 08:56 AM

Stillen* iPhone auto correct lol no it's not stolen

ClemsonWill 06-23-2011 11:26 AM

Hey guys. I have a conflict with the 19th. Will the 26th work? Let me know.

I'm thinking we can pick somewhere different this time.

Possibilities:
- Meet up and drive out to Shem Creek for some Red's (might be better suited for a Saturday or Sunday)
-Andolini's on Rivers Ave.
- Market Street Saloon behind North Woods Mall.
- Wild Wings again.

Any preferences?

My_third_Z 06-23-2011 05:30 PM

The 26th is fine with me. Other than that, I have no preference for food. Those are all good places. There just needs to be enough empty spots to all park side by side.
