sounds like a bad gasket possibly will...?

rooskey, Z1's got a great set of SS lines, my girlfriend has them on her 350 (one of my xmas gifts to her last year lol). as for pads, talk to them about carbotech's! they make a variety of pads for various conditions so be sure to ask them what they recommend for your use. carbotech is a local company from NC, support them!

I have been looking very hard at the BBS F1's though for sure.

Nope, I saw em logged on at the hotel those puppies are nice. You wil have to get me the info of the doc that did them. my wife wants this done also

HKYStormFront 05-23-2011 09:44 PM

drove by the restaurant yesterday on the way home matthew, let me know when you are going to be working one weekend coming up and i'll make the trip over!

Rooskey 05-23-2011 10:01 PM

Thanks for the input stormfront. With the size of the factory brakes compared to the weight of these cars I would asume with minor upgrades that they would stop great. More than what I would need. I would love to track my car someday soon but there is not anything close. Unless you know of something. I would prefer a track rather than a parking lot with cones. (not that there is anything wrong with clemson autox) just my preference.

What brakes do you have? I think im gonna try some stainless steel brake lines and some good aftermarket pads before I go all out with a new setup. The stock rubber lines flex under hard braking and aftermarket pads will grab harder. From the looks of it the disk are by far big enough. At least for what I do. Im gonna go with Z1 cooler because of there price, good service, and they really helped me out with my 02's (pricing) when I installed my headers. BTW how did you salvage yours??????

Yeah, that's all I'm going with. Stainless lines and new pads. Maybe 2-pc rotors if some insane deal comes along.

I have always heard great things about Z-1 but I have not bought anything from them yet.

I took the 02 sensors out while still installed on the headers. Then soaked them in PB. Took my time and worked them out slowly with no issues.

:iagree: That's definitely one of the first things I'm going to check. Luckily I have some extra gaskets.

speaking of z1..

and speaking of 2 piece rotors..

and speaking of insane deal...

;) you should wait just a lil!

and also maybe check out the pictures of my wheels (notice the rotors)

ClemsonWill 05-24-2011 01:13 PM

Yeah, I noticed them the other day. They look real nice. Z1 about to offer a deal on them?

HKYStormFront 05-24-2011 03:33 PM

yea they are pimp!

Matthew 05-24-2011 06:22 PM

HK, I am almost always at work especially on the weekends. Bring the girlfriend up for a date.
Roosky you too!!

HKYStormFront 05-24-2011 09:41 PM

"this is an '82 honda... HOW DARE YOU!!!"

ClemsonWill 05-25-2011 07:02 AM

Matthew, when are you looking at coming down for the exhaust?

ClemsonWill 05-25-2011 02:13 PM

Guys, lets get a group together to go to Zcon. It's right down the road. I'm thinking just for Friday, Saturday, and come home Sunday. Who's in?

HKYStormFront 05-25-2011 02:44 PM

i talked to the organizer of zcon at zdayz this past weekend, it looks like me and my friend brennan are a shoe in for the photography this year :woot: there is a local guy who was interested (a friend of one of the committee members) but he only does industrial photography and has no experience with cars. and being a pro shooter, i bet he wants more than both me and brennan combined for his services (and rightfully so). if i get the gig, i will be selling my 7D ASAP and getting a 5D2 ASAP since ZCON will pay me enough to cover the upgrade! :)

It's in Savannah, July 18th-23rd. But I'm thinking about going just 22-24th.

sms8386 05-26-2011 11:51 AM

I might be interested in hitting up ZCON. I'm new to the Z world only owned a 370 for a few months. But have had a few 24osx with RB'2,SR's. Even had a STI for a while.

Rooskey 05-26-2011 11:52 AM

I'll have to play it by ear, but there is a good chance I could go.

Welcome! Sounds good. I will start a list of those interested. What color is your Z and any mods?

ok sounds good. Let me know. I'm thinking a bunch of us could split a room and just crash there. Would make it much cheaper.

HKYStormFront 05-26-2011 02:24 PM

Rooskey 05-26-2011 08:34 PM

Is Zcon gonna be a guys weekend? If so it will be a better chance for me to go, and ill be down with splitting a room. I have to take my son to his mom that weekend so ill just meet her at 26 and 95 rather than Columbia. Will what time on friday do you want to leave?

ClemsonWill 05-26-2011 08:53 PM

Yeah, I was thinking it would be a guys weekend. My wife isn't really in to the car stuff. Plus I'm trying to get a couple of the local guys to go and they are single. Would have to be early on Friday or Thursday after work.

Matthew 05-26-2011 10:49 PM

I may be able to go down friday and come back Sat.

ClemsonWill 05-27-2011 10:30 AM

Sounds like most people are a maybe. When will you all know for sure if you can go? I looked at price. If we book early there should be room left in the Westin. It will be about $50-$60 per person. Less if we have more people crash in the room.

if you come through atlanta let me know! i know a dude really wanting to hear the ark, and since the only one in Atlanta i know of was smashed in a wreck... you may be the closest!

ClemsonWill 05-31-2011 03:24 PM

There is a local performance shop here in Charleston. The owner is contemplating becoming an UpRev Pro Tuner. He's trying to gauge interest to see if it is worth it. The buy in is pretty steep. Anyone plan on getting an UpRev tune in the future?

Will do! There a good chance that I will be in atlanta sooner or later.

I was planning on only hitting Avon for the day. Since it's so close. Are there any final plans yet?

IMWEZL 05-31-2011 08:25 PM

Well my Z finally arrived but I had some trouble trying to register and get plates. Seems as though the SC DMV doesn't recognize Hawaii as a state so I must now get an EPA certificate to prove my car was meant for the USA.

I'm laughing now but I was pissed off after waiting in line and showing damn near every document to include my window sticker. The Nissan dealer off of Rivers in Charleston said they could hook me up. I'm pretty sure that will involve me shelling out some money.

So if you guys see a Red Z running around with no plates that might be me. ;)

sms8386 06-01-2011 09:44 AM

I meant to say Zcon for the day.. btw. Damn I-phone

Just put a paper plate with "Tag applied for". People do it all the time.

:icon18: Good thing you corrected it. I thought you were talking about somewhere near ATL.

No final plans yet! I'm pretty sure that I'm going. I need to know who can confirm that they want to stay the night. At this point I'm thinking just Friday night. Plan would be to go down early Friday morning and leave Saturday night. Whos in?

I'll probably be getting mine done in Charlotte at the place stormfront has mentioned. I can be there in a little over an hour at the most. BTW whats the name of that place StormFront and are they on the forum??

Rooskey 06-01-2011 12:10 PM

Recieved my Motordyne intake today, and also ordered my Z1 oil cooler with redline oil change kit!! :happydance: Now I just have to find time to install. Maybe I can get a sitter for my son Saturday night.

Yeah that's what the 2nd DMV rep told me to do. She was actually pretty cool and smart on the whole process of importing a vehicle from overseas. I ended up going to Customs downtown and eating lunch out there...the area wasn't too bad and now I have a set of plates.

I don't know WTF was up with the Moncks Corner DMV but Leeds was squared away. Still can't believe I was told that Hawaii is not part of the United States. :roflpuke2:
