No idea, maybe...500-1000...basically new. I bought them a few months before I went to the CAI.

I knew it wasn't many miles.

How's the FD? Sorry I wasn't really in a state to come hang out when you texted me this weekend...

HKYStormFront 11-05-2014 08:43 AM

I hit a fox last night in the G8 on the way home from dinner :( Does anyone have a pressure washer? I think I'm going to need one to get the remnants off the bottom of my car. It pushed the lower plastic grille in but didn't seem to do much else. I'll look at it today after work in the daylight. Hopefully it's not too bad...

I think my grandparents have one. How's the car?

The car seems to be fine, thankfully. Physical damage seems to be minimal. I just need to look at in the daylight and see if the bumper cover itself got messed up or not. Last night it did not appear to be damaged other than my smattering of rock chips that were already there. My chin spoiler was already scraped all to hell anyway (from the previous owners), I might use this as an excuse to go ahead and replace it if it's not to costly. The lower grille insert is only $105 plus shipping. If that's all it takes to get my car back to looking the way it was, I guess I can't complain too much lol.

Let me know guys, I'd like to do it sooner rather than later. Willing to bring adult beverages in exchange for equipment "rental"

brancky3 11-05-2014 10:39 AM

I'll be home today until 6PM, tomorrow I'll be around all day. Whatever works for you, I'm on Westmoreland and SC14 so only a ~15 minute drive or so I think.

HKYStormFront 11-05-2014 11:42 AM

Let's try to get at it tomorrow (new) Brandon. I am not sure I can even get there before 6p. I appreciate it, sir. Shoot me a pm with the address when you get a chance.

Haha true it needs an update...and Its all good man i was just passing through the area and thought to give ya a shout.

That sux about the fox man! i hope it all cleans up good for ya. If you still need a pressure washer my dad has one i can borrow for ya I use it all the time at my house for the driveway just let me know.

The fd is down right now due to a very laborious oil metering pump failure. I had to take the entire front of the engine apart (which really is suprisingly easy and so far i find working on rotary engines to be a breeze im loving it) but i was an idiot and broke my oil fill neck in the process so now waiting on a new one to arrive. im probably about 10 hours into the job currently

Big news though this jan-feb im going to be making the treck to single turbo
im tired of the rats nest of vacuum lines and the shop who will be helping me out in the journey is telling me 400-450 hp no problem! Im so stoked cant wait to get my tax return haha. That with wider rubber should give me some impressive speed!

I look forward to seeing your car man.

Tax return...I remember what those used to be in the days when I actually got one. Having kids will definitely help your return.

Gadgetech 11-05-2014 09:23 PM

By the way, old Brandon...thanks. That's all I can say nicely. I can't get the sound of that exhaust out of my head and I really had funds planned for other things.

Just remember, it's your fault. I've told my wife about you too. :icon08:

I got a brief chance to look at my bumper this morning and it is a little worse than I originally thought. It does appear that the lower grille going in broke some of the pieces on the bumper that hold it. In addition, there is a crack on the FRP that goes back to the grille about an inch long or so. I believe that if I can replace the lower grille insert and get it to stay in place securely somehow that most of the crack will be covered up. There is also some scuff marking on that lower area that I didn't see the other night.

I think my best option is to bring the car straight over to OG Brandon since we had been talking about getting it detailed anyway. If you have the tools needed to pull the bumper and I can get the replacement part in, maybe together we can knock all of this out at one point. I can send you some pictures OG Brandon if you want to see what I'm talking about.

My plan would be to get it as good as possible now and get it properly repaired by a body shop later after I get the car paid off and get all the rock chips fixed at the same time which was my original plan.

Thoughts?

I'm down, I'm sure we can get something going. I'll be gone until next Saturday but anytime after that I'm game. Send me the pictures.

Yeah, I'll need to get that grille insert ordered and I don't know what the lead time is on that. I'll look into that tonight. Thanks for your help, both Brandons :tiphat:

Hey guys, AV tuning is having a dyno day tomorrow. They have had them in the past and the turn out has been pretty good. I will probably head out there for a bit just to see what shows up. I'm assuming there will be some really nice GTRs in attendance. You can check out the post on thier website.

And this threads been crickets...

What's going on yo?

:bump:

HKYStormFront 11-20-2014 09:09 PM

Dropped my new replacement grille into the GXP today. That went pretty easily. It still needs some major TLC on the front bumper and underneath. I haven't had time to really mess with it as I have basically been getting off work after dark every night and was out of town this past weekend.

I believe I am going to be working this weekend as well so I don't think I'm going to make it to cars and coffee unfortunately. That was my original intent, to get the car repaired as best as possible right now and cleaned up, but I don't think work is going to allow it this time.

Also, in other news... WHY IS IT SO FREAKING COLD ALREADY??!! Global warming my @ss!!

Gadgetech 11-20-2014 09:28 PM

Does that mean the racecar won't be here either this weekend?

HKYStormFront 11-20-2014 09:44 PM

No, unfortunately the resource I was using to get the car here let me know just a few days ago that they wouldn't be able to get it here so that left me no time to figure out an alternative :( We will try again in the spring once it gets warm enough to warrant the effort.

Zensation 11-21-2014 08:17 AM

So is anyone going out to c&C this weekend I will be there and I think Chris is coming down from charlotte with some guy named tim so that we can discuss wraps.

Our timetable for deliverables has been extended, taking some pressure off of us to get stuff done this weekend. I might be able to make it after all.

Lucky for you, I'll be on the east side of Michigan - they get no lake effect snow :icon17: Believe me, I only have summer tires for my Z, I don't want any of that crap here!

Hey guys, my names Jonathan. I finally got my profile approved so I can post.

Long time member on my350z, but I finally upgraded so here I am.

Right now I am in Columbia, but I spend a good bit of time in Greenville. Will probably be moving back to the upstate soon.

Anyone here a member of PZC? Going to be having a big Z meet Dec 13 here in Columbia. Already have space rented out and will be cooking out as well. Right now expecting 35-40 cars and still over 2 weeks until it happens.

djtodd 11-25-2014 07:23 AM

About time you got over here :)
