I think it's partly due to radiation given off by HIDs too. A lot of older vehicles with HID that haven't been cared for have that extremely foggy look about them.

No need to charge it until it's nearly full. I pre-fill approximately until about half and mount it. Once you pour oil into the engine itself gravity will fill the filter anyway.

Hand tighten the oil filter and for removal, nothing does a better job than using oil filter pliers. Its teeth with firmly grasp the filter and loosen with ease.

For future reference, I'd use a GL-4 specific transmission fluid as GL-5 (Lucas 75W-90) will deteriorate our transmissions' brass synchros. I use Red Line MT-85.
